About this Cook
I am a full-time momma and I love to cook. I am a devoted vegetarian and I really love finding new recipes that I can convert to meat-free. I use this website on a regular basis and I try at least one new recipe a week.
My favorite things to cook
Anything pasta, especially with homemade sauces. I am also a big fan of soups and stews. I love making sushi (veggie rolls of course)...it is a lot of fun to entertain with.
My cooking triumphs
The first meal I cooked for my wonderful man was eggplant parmesan. It is his favorite dish now, and it seems to get better every time I make it.
My cooking tragedies
I made a "throw together" hot dish with a cheesy roux based sauce. It came out all stringy and chewy. It was horrible The only thing it fed was the garbage :(

Fettuccine with Sweet Pepper-Cayenne Sauce
Although very good on its own, the thing I changed was to roast one of the two peppers, puree it, and then add it to the mix. I also added onion to the sauteed red pepper. I followed the advice of one and added the sour cream last, after the mixture reduced a bit. It was pretty darn good and went great with a glass of cabernet.

Spicy Noodles - Malay Style
Not the best. It was really dry. The peas made it pretty gross, and I like peas. Sorry, but I won't be making this again

Absolutely Fabulous Portobello Mushroom Tortellini
This is a great dish! The one thing I would have to say is use the fresh alfredo sauce that you get in the refrigerated section (if you don't make your own). The stuff that comes in the jar is horrible. Thanks for such an easy and elegant recipe!
