About this Cook
My cooking triumphs
Last year was the 1st year that I began canning. I still haven't got it mastered completely but I think that I did really well (especially with 2 little ones running around while I was doing so). I plan to do more this year and tackle some canning recipes.
My cooking tragedies
Toast!!!! I don't have a toaster in my kitchen so I use my oven's broiler. I almost always forget that I have toast in there.

Coconut Cream Pie I
I've made this several times with excellent results every time. I always toast my coconut though so it adds a bit of crunchy texture to the smoothness of the pudding. Love this!!

Simmered Swiss Steak
This sounded like it would be good. After making it, it didn't look as appetizing as it sounded. But, after one bite we were hooked. This was delicious. The meat was so tender and cut like butter. This will be a recipe that will be in use at my house.

Cinnamon Supper Cake
Wonderfully simple. My husband and I don't like desserts that are overly sweet. This was perfect. Just sweet enough. I also enjoyed that it is so easy to throw together for a spur of the moment dessert with ingredients I usually have on hand.
