About this Cook
Cooking for a family of 5 - again......6 when my 2 year old grandson is at the table.
My favorite things to cook
My favorite things to cook are my favorite things to eat...casseroles and pasta
My favorite family cooking traditions
Food is always greatly anticipated by the extended family on holidays and other special family days. Traditional holiday meals include turkey and dressing, ham, green bean casserole, potatoes and of course barbecues in the summer. OF course there are certain dishes that are a must for any gathering... Grandmas boiled raisin cake, Aunt Fern's home made pimento cheese spread, Mom's ...hmmm....everything!
My cooking triumphs
It's always a triumph when I find a recipe, adapt it to my family's likings and have it turn out scrumptious. Specific dishes Pineapple upside down cake, Chile, cream based pasta sauces.
My cooking tragedies
Recently decided to make peach-nectarine muffins from this site. I was dissapointed to discover that the fruit I had planned to use for this was gone. I had some apricot preserves in the fridge and decided to try those. Never thought I'd say THIS about anything, but, they were too sweet to eat!

Hearty Skillet Supper
This is great "everyday" family recipe with ingredients that are always in the cupboard and is fairly quick to prepare.

Beefy Barbecue Macaroni
We didnt care for this one. The barbecue sauce made it too sweet tasting. Ive made a similar one using ketchup or tomato sauce and I usually just use a box of macaroni and cheese for the pasta and cheese sauce.
