I enjoy cooking, and I am always looking at new recipes and creating recipes on my own. I love to experiment with flavors and different foods. My greatest accomplishments are when my kids eat all of their dinner and tell me how much they loved it. I work as a cook at an upscale retirement community where I am allowed to try out all sorts of recipes and come up with my own. The paychecks are great, but I am really paid when I am complimented on my cooking. I love cooking fish...all kinds of fish. From albacore to whitefish, I love cooking whatever variety I can get my hands on. Sauces are another. I am always testing flavors and seeing what works well with what. I can make a killer crab alfredo and when I am in a crunch, and I have no recipes to work with, I can come up with an amazing dish on the fly. When I was growing up I learned early on that if I wanted to eat, I had to cook it. My first fancy dish was crab alfredo. I also learned how to make a poor man's chicken a l'orange. That was what drew me to cooking. I took a chance one day with a cold shrimp recipe at work. It was a risky move since the residents I cook for are VERY particular. It ended up being SO well recieved that I even had a staff member ask for the recipe. Haven't had any major ones yet, but there's always tomorrow.
