Hot German Potato Salad III

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2009
This was delicious! I followed the recipe minus having 1 less piece of bacon, so when it got to the point of sauteing the onions and adding the flour mixture, I added about 1/2 TBSP of butter in place of some of the bacon grease. Reminds me of my friend's Grandmothers recipe, and she's from Germany!

I have made this a handful of times and always get the same response - YUM! I'm making it again for 4th of July so I had to leave a comment, great recipe!

Horseradish Deviled Eggs

These were a hit at a birthday party I just went to! I tripled the recipe, used fresh dill instead of dried, and added a touch of dill relish. Everyone gobbled them right up!

Honey Mustard Grilled Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2009
The recipe didn't call for marinating the chicken, but I think it would have been great if it sat for a few hours. I made the sauce and marinated for about 30 minutes, then grilled. It smelled great! I could taste the flavors a little bit, but definitely wanted more. Next time I will marinate for 4 hours or more and see how it turns out.

Grilled Shrimp Scampi

Delicious! I didn't change a thing in the recipe (aside from cut it down for a smaller portion) and the shrimp came out great. A definite keeper.

Sweet Mustard Chops

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2009
These are very good! I, too was wondering what the outcome would be, it seemed like the chops would have a strong vinegar taste - not at all! The flavors are subdle (I marinated for about 12 hours), but all come together really nicely and give the pork good flavor. Yum!

Blueberry 'N' Spice Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2009
This was so easy and delicious! I liked that it wasn't so syrupy and sweet like some sauces. We poured this over a danish-like dessert but it would be great with ice cream, pancakes, you name it. Yum!

Vinegar Grilled Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2009
This recipe is great! I'm always looking for new ways to cook chicken, and my mom used to use a vinegar based sauce on the grill - this came close. Like some others I subbed olive oil for the butter (I was making this at 6 AM and didn't feel like revving up the microwave to melt it) and also instead of garlic salt used 1 TBSP of garlic powder and about 1/2 TBSP regular salt. Everyone loved it in my house! Thanks for a great recipe!

Grilled Marinated Shrimp

Reviewed: May 7, 2009
This is a great recipe! I followed it pretty closely but only marinated for about 45 minutes. Then, after I skewered the shrimp, I brushed some more of the marinade on before sticking them in the broiler. I broiled them on one side for 3 minutes and the other side for another minute, minute and a half, and they were perfect! Just the right amount of spice and flavor. I also added some lemon zest like another reviewer suggested. A definite keeper!

Guinness® Corned Beef

Delicious and so tender! I made reubens with this and everyone raved. I will make this recipe every time I have a hankering for corned beef.

Mom's Coleslaw

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2009
Delicious and so easy! The only thing I added was some black pepper. Like other reviewers, I think the whole recipe for one small head of cabbage might be too much - I made half the recipe and used it with a big bag of coleslaw mix and it was the perfect amount. Who would have thought three ingredient coleslaw dressing would have better flavor than some with 10+??

Sweet, Sticky and Spicy Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2009
This was really good! I gave it four stars because it was a little on the salty side. Next time I might try a little more brown sugar or possibly low sodium soy sauce. Otherwise, I did as others suggested and coated the chicken with flour lightly and the sauce thickened up nicely. It was so good!

Blackened Salmon Fillets

This recipe is delicious! I have made it two ways, once with the butter it calls for and once with extra virgin olive oil, and both are equally yummy. With some fresh lemon juice at the end, this makes a great entree!

Slow Cooker Chicken Stroganoff

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2008
This is delicious! I took some others' advice and added a splash of wine at the beginning just so the chicken wasn't dry, but otherwise I stuck to the recipe minus a little sprinkle of cayenne pepper at the end. When you wait to add the soup at the end, the chicken roasts up and gets all brown in the crock pot - YUM. I didn't shred the chicken like some suggested, but I will next time so that it all cooks up in the sauce. So good!

Tarragon Chicken Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2008
This was great! I did make a few subs, just because of what I had in the pantry, but I'm sure it's just as good (probably better) with the original recipe. Instead of cream of chicken soup I used cream of mushroom, I swapped out 1 cup of half and half for milk, used fresh tarragon instead of dried, and I added about a tsp of garlic powder (I can't live without garlic!). I also added salt, which I found it needed at the end. This was so good! My boyfriend even enjoyed it, and I wasn't sure he would like the tarragon taste. I'm definitely going to make this recipe again - I want to try it with cream of chicken soup next time.
