I'm a stay at home mom to 2 young children ages 3 & 4. My husband works alot and travels alot so it makes when he comes home very special and I like to make yummy dinners when I can. I love trying new recipes, though I am a picky eater. So when I'm looking for new recipes to try it will never have any weird ingredients (what I consider weird)
When I first became a stay at home mom 4 years ago, my cooking skills were very basic... and I was still getting used to having the whole 'run the household' thing.. so we did take out alot. Since then I've come a long way. I love cooking, baking, playing w/ my kids... everything that comes w/having the opportunity to stay home w/ my kids and help them grown & learn. As far as cleaning goes... we have someone else come do that! haha.
My favorite things to cook
My favorites are main dishes, and sides. We love anything chicken, cheese, veggie, pasta, tomato. Something I make regularly that my kids LOVE are deviled eggs, as well as loaded nachos. But at the same time they love there broccoli. I'm fortunate that my kids a very good eaters.. and lucky for them they have GREAT metabolisms!
My favorite family cooking traditions
MY favorites are all the holiday staples.. turkey, meat stuffing, bread stuffing.... holiday cookies... easter ham...
my mom makes some great recipes for family gatherings.. stuffed mushrooms, deviled eggs, calzones, kielbasa, corn chowder. She knows her way around the kitchen!
My cooking triumphs
I made beautiful Balsamic Chicken that wasn't complicated but the presenation was beautiful. Looked picture perfect and tasted just as good!
My cooking tragedies
I once made a pizze from scratch and baked it DIRECTLY ON THE RACK... needless to say.. it melted and drooped, and dripped right through the rack.... it was a messy, smokey disaster.
