About this Cook
I really enjoy eating very good food. So I thought " If I love eating good food, what's stopping me from making good food. Absolutely nothing!"
My favorite things to cook
I love making cakes, homemade bread, and cookies.
My favorite family cooking traditions
MY favorite family cooking tradition is making homemade pancakes on Saturday mornings and homemade biscuits on Sunday Mornings.
My cooking triumphs
I must say that my greatest cooking triumph was baking and decorating my own wedding cake for 350 guests. It turned out simply gorgeous and when I look at the pictures, I still can't believe I did that! My next triumph is my homemade biscuits. I make them better than my Mom and she taught me! My Grandmother came stayed with me for a couple of days and one morning I made homemade biscuits. She thought I had bought them and asked me to give her the name of the brand. My husband replied, " Diane's homemade biscuits!" She stared at the biscuits and said that they were almost better, if not better than ones her mother made in an old log stove while she was growing up. Now I know that is a good compliment!
My cooking tragedies
Once, I made these omelets and they looked absolutely stunning and we took one bite and they all had to go in the trash. I had added 2 TBSP of salt instead of 2 tsp. I also made this exotic recipe called Polynesian Chicken for me and husband on our date night. I followed the recipe exactly and didn't add any seasoning or the like. It was the most terrible recipe I have made in my life and of it made a great big pot. I threw it out. Even my husband who usually says everything I make is to die for, didn't say a word. He just picked at it until I ed the food and threw it out. We went out for fast food!!

Breakfast Pies
For those that are commented on the dryness of the recipe. You can make your own biscuit dough or use a biscuit mix and add the drained sausage and shredded cheese to the dry ingredients after you have cut in the shortening and then add the liquid as directed. Roll and cut out like regular biscuits. These are awesome.
