I'm 42 years-old with 3 grown children & one grandson. I am a registered nurse, working in an outpatient Oncology clinic. I love the life God has given me, my family, my career, & last but not least, I love to cook.
My favorite things to cook
I am learning to step out of my comfort zone & try new things. I grew up learning to cook on the family farm, so my background is the southern, stick-to-your-ribs kind of cooking. I don't cook that way too often anymore & have learned to cook things that are less-fattening & all around healthier. I do still make those oh-so-good southern desserts, though.
My cooking tragedies
I cannot decorate cookies to save my life. One year at Christmas, I spent hours making reindeer sugar cookies. It took forever to ice & decorate them. When my son came home from school I proudly showed him my reindeer cookies. He looks at them & says, "Those look great, Mom, but what do dogs have to do with Christmas?"
