About this Cook
I love to cook for people that I love and care about. I have just recently (in the past 6 months or so) really gotten into cooking. I'm sure that I would have sooner, but I wasn't able to until now. I think that my skills have improved immensely. I was in a head-on car crash, that limited my physical abilities for a few months. I really couldn't do much but go online, or cook. So cooking kept me busy and made me feel like I was helping around the house when I really couldn't do much else (i.e. cleaning).
My favorite things to cook
Everything! I love cooking and eating new things! I will try almost anything once!
My favorite family cooking traditions
All of them. My family is full of amazing cooks. But I am still open to trying other people's traditions, hence my subscription to this website!
My cooking triumphs
Homemade spaghetti and meatballs (the one that I reviewed).
My cooking tragedies
My friend and I tried making a blackberry pie one time without using a recipe when we were young teenagers, and it didn't taste too bad but looked like a disaster.

Divinity
Awesome! This was my first time making divinity, and after hearing how finicky the recipe can be I was a bit worried. But it turned out just right! I used the hard ball method to gage the temperature, and I beat the egg whites for about 15 mins.

Big Soft Ginger Cookies
Wonderful cookies! I've already made one normal batch, and it lasted less than 24 hours! So tonight I'm making a double batch and hoping that it will last a bit longer lol! I took the advice of others and flattened the cookies throuroughly. I also used orange juice instead of water. Best ginger cookies ever, and they can easily be made smaller for ginger snaps.

Sweet Restaurant Slaw
I accidentally got a 2.5 oz package of coleslaw mix at the store, so I just used less of everything (like 1/4 cup of sugar instead of a 1/2 cup) I used 1/3 cup of Miracle Whip, 1 tbz of veggie oil, the original 1 tbs of vinegar, but all I had was white wine vinegar, and the 1/4 tbs of salt, ommitting the poppy seeds since my bf works for the government and poppy seeds would show up on a drug test. I added a green bell pepper finely diced. The flavor of the dressing is awesome, and I know that next time I will remember to get a 16 oz bag of slaw mix and I will follow the recipe exactly except for adding some green bell pepper...
