About this Cook
I am a mom of two. Before I had my first son, we ate out all the time. Once he was born, I started cooking. I love to cook and try new things.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake cookies, cupcakes, brownies, and pretty much anything sweet. I am still working on dinners, I have a few under my belt, but I would like a few more staples.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom is a type of cook who doesn't use a recipe for she cooks. I have to watch her to learn how to make her meals. She makes awesome gravy.
My cooking triumphs
I made a homemade chicken pot pie. If you would have asked me a few years ago, I would have told you no way. Not only did I make it, but it is absolutly delicous.
My cooking tragedies
When I was younger, I was making cookies for my brothers. I must have mistaken the salt for the sugar. You can only imagine how awful they tasted!

Tortillas I
I have never made tortillas before, but thought that I would try. I know that they are called "flour" tortillas, but mine were a little too floury. I might try one more time and see if that was just a one time issue. A tip that I read on the website to roll out the dough was to put the ball of dough in a big ziploc bag and roll it out. That seemed to work really well for me!

BBQ Chicken Pizza II
I guess that I am just not a fan of BBQ chicken pizza. I am a pepperoni and sausage kind of gal. It was easy to make and looked really yummy. I used a rotesseri chicken from the grocery store. I don't think that I will make it again, just not for my family

Teriyaki Marinated Chicken
I was craving teriyaki chicken and found this recipe. I already had everything for it. I get it ready the night before we are going to have it for dinner. It is nice to already have dinner waiting in the fridge. We grill it on our George Foreman grill along with some pineapple rings. Then we serve it with rice. I also strain the leftover marinade and cook it on the stove with a little cornstarch to make a gravy to put over the chicken and the rice. YUM!!
