What can we cook today????
About this Cook
Wild n crazy, stay at home, work at home, mother on the go. I love meals that may be prepared in under 30minutes, minus oven cooking time. As long as it's healthy, one pot or casserole. Frozen vegetables's are a dream come true for busy cooks, nothing wasted, use only what you need.
My favorite things to cook
I love doing roasts, ribs, and burgers. I love soups, stews, chili's and casseroles. Baking cakes and cookies for my two amazingly beautiful kids.
My favorite family cooking traditions
During the holidays, I am carrying on a family tradition of preparing my French grandmother's, mother's Christmas meat pie, tortiere. This year my kids are old enough to help out. I prepare my Mother's turkey and stuffing with giblet gravy, at thanks giving, I do like to make the stuffing my own by adding some chestnuts, sausage, and apple.
My cooking triumphs
Learning not to fear the oven, that I can make roasts and turkey, and tenderloin and ribs. That Knorr hollandaise is better than homemade. Even though Campbell's stopped making bean and bacon soup, I can still live with Recipe Goldmines ripoff recipe.
My cooking tragedies
The worst is when I nearly burnt down my apartment building with a left over pizza box in the oven. Another, when my glass bake ware shattered all around a perfectly cooked pineapple upside down cake.

Hot Fudge Sundae Cake
I did not care for this recipe. in the end it was pudding, nowhere near the consistency of a cake. I followed the recipe to a T. I am an expert cook and baker, so I would know. I had a bad feeling about things when the recipe asked to pour the boiling water over everythings and not mix it. But I went ahead with it. What an icky sweet mess in the end. It tasted pretty good, but even for a pudding, it had a lot of tiny lumps. I do not recommend even trying to fix this recipe. It is a waste of good ingredients.

Hearty Hot or Cold Roasted Tomato Soup
I tweaked this recipe and made it Old Mother Hubbard style, and it came out super thick. Having only one pound tomatoes,I used the size bigger than cherry, roasted them with the garlic cloves until they began to split, soaked five sun dried tomato halves in some hot broth, and keeping the tomatoes in their skins, I tossed the works into the blender along with 4oz tin of tomato paste. I used the full amount of broth. Added a tbs of garlic soy margarine, and a tbs of pesto. Also, to reduce tomato acidity, I added 1 tsp sugar. And just for variation, I added a cup of aborio rice. My soup is super thick, in fact I had to keep adding more liquid as the aborio cooked in the soup. Amazing. For my daughters lunch tomorrow I plan to add milk, it is soooo thick. Yum :o)

USMC SOS
This is so addictive, I can't stop eating it. I used finely diced onions, minced garlic, and lots of Worcestershire sauce, during the browning of the meat. To give the whole thing a health boost, I used brown flour, for some hidden fiber in the mix. It works just as well as white flour, with added benefits. It was so good I just ate it like soup. But will have it with rye toast with the kids.
