About this Cook
I am a 32 yo SAHM, living in Ohio with my husband and 3 boys. We are lucky to have great cooks on both sides of the family and live in a community where there are many great cooks. I have been cooking since I was in the 8th grade. My mom is an awesome cook and was always preparing something when I was growing up. I love to try new things. I also love to do home canning.
My favorite things to cook
I love to make cookies, bars and desserts.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Growing up, I would make cut-out sugar cookies with my mom and brother. We would frost and decorate them festively. We would also bake several other Christmas cookies to pass out to family and friends. I have continued this tradition.
My cooking triumphs
My cooking triumphs would have to be learning to make bread and cinnamon rolls like my mom.
My cooking tragedies
One year for Christmas, I decided to make a Chocolate Peppermint Cake Roll recipe that sounded wonderful. I made at least 5 or 6 of the chocolate cake roll part and it flopped every time. The kitchen was an absolute disaster to say the least, not to mention the ingredients that I wasted. In the end, I did make one that turned out decent, put the filling in it and served it. It tasted horrible. My family was very kind though with their comments but I think it was because they knew what turmoil I went through trying to make it!

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup
This is so easy and so delicious! I put my chicken breast in frozen and literally had this all put together in my slow cooker in under 10 minutes. The house smelled yummy while it was cooking and was perfect after 6 hours. I served it with the sour cream, crushed tortill chips, and shredded cheddar. I also added some green onions. This will be on the menu again. Thanks for sharing.

BAKER'S Peanut Butter Oatmeal Chocolate Chunk Cookies
WoW! This is a super yummy cookie. It is soft and chewy in the middle and a little crispy around the edges. Peanut butter, oatmeal and chocolate-what more could you want? I followed the directions but I only baked mine at 350.

Cheddar Biscuits
It doesn't get any simpler than this :) I followed the directions exactly and everyone loved them. I would make these again and add a little fresh minced onion for flavor.
