Simple Country Ribs

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2008
This was a great jumping off recipe! I rubbed my ribs with a rib rub, put them in the pot, covered with a bottle of Sweet Baby Rays BBQ sauce (our fav), then covered in apple juice (something about cooking/marinating pork in apple juice, it's the bomb) then boiled for about 35-45 min. Then basted the ribs with a little more BBQ sauce, put em on the grill to get a little crispy on the outside. OMG! Ridiculous. FANTASTIC! I have to make these at least once a week now or I go through withdrawals.

Grilled Peanut Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2008
This was really good. I've made twice now. The first time I thought it was a bit too salty, so I left out some of the soy sauce the 2nd time around. It was perfect. I too found that the sauce was very thick, but I just used some chicken broth to thin it down a little. by doing so, it gives you extra sauce for dipping after cooking. Excellent flavor, extremely easy and really good.

Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2008
Oh Mama, this is some excellent, extremely addictive stuff. I've made it twice in the past week. I used Granny Smith apples which are very tart and dry, so I used the whole 1/2 cp of liquid, but I used spiced rum instead. WOW! I also added more cinnammon and some pumpkin pie seasoning to the apples. I made my sugar mixture, then tossed the apples so they were coated perfectly, then topped with the rum. I doubled the top crumbly stuff and just lightly crumbled on top. It was absoutely pefect. Also served with butter pecan ice cream which was awesome. Don't make this unless you want to be addicted to it. :)

Burgundy Mushrooms

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2008
These were really good. I cleaned my mushrooms and trimmed the ends. Threw them in 1 1/2 cps Beef Broth, 1/2 cp Merlot cause that's what I had. Topped with some garlic powder and Italian seasonings. Left out the onions cause they are a pain to chop. Came out really good and very flavorful!

Oh my goodness Bob! You have out done yourself. These are absolutely amazing. I think better than any I've ever had at a restaurant. Superb! I followed the recipe exactly, except I left out the onion. Fantastic! Thank you, thank you!

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2008
Wow! This has to be the most moist cake I've ever eaten. As other reviewers said, I noticed it was even better the longer it sits. I topped with the satiny glaze from this site and then topped with mini chocolate chips. Super chocolately! My bf loved it. Def will make again.

Satiny Chocolate Glaze

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2008
Excellent topping for a decadent cake. I doubled the recipe and microwaved like other reviews said to do. This took me a total of 45 seconds to make. Awesome! Very good stuff. It set quite nicely for me. Thank you for this really good, easy to make recipe!

Italian Sausage Soup with Tortellini

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2008
Excellent soup! This was my first time making soup and boy was I pleased! I used canned tomato because it was easier. I also used dried herbs because that's what I had. I also added some canned corn and green beans. Tasted great! Very very hearty. You could easily add more broth, if you had a large enough pot to do so. Thanks for sharing!!

Mint Chocolate Fudge

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2008
Wow, was this fudge good! I made it for Christmas and everyone LOVED it! If you are a chocolate mint lover, make these and you'll be in heaven! Super simple, hard to screw up recipe. This was my first try at making fudge and I sure wish the other recipes were as simple as this one. Not to mention ridiculously good! As other users suggested, I made the chocolate layers seperately. I also used white chocolate chips for the mint part because I couldn't find the coating stuff. I used a square 8 inch pan and it turned out perfect. This may be the trick to the receipe, as others have said that theres turned out more candy like. Mine was perfectly thick and fudge like. Definitely reminded me of the Mint Meltaways at Fannie Mae as others have said. Love the two tone fudge! Thank you for sharing!

Broccoli Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2008
This recipe was really fantastic! It was gone in a day and it makes a HUGE pot! Definitely add 2 lbs of Velvetta and twice as much broccoli. To simplify, I used 2 bags of the steam in bag broccoli and just added the broccoli to the onion mixture. I also used 1 cup cream and 1 cup milk like some other users suggested. I didn't have any canned bullion, so I just prepared 5 cups bullion with the cubes I had. I also used fresh minced garlic instead of the powder. Amazingly awesome stuff. If you like the Broccoli Cheese soup at Chili's, you're really gonna like this recipe. Marvelous! Thanks for sharing!
