Bacon Wrapped Water Chestnuts II

My husband absolutely loved them. I drained the grease three times and used lower sodium bacon to make us feel a little bit better about being so naughty.

Coming from a person who never salts anything but boiling water, I found this a little bland and so did my husband. I followed the recipe in it's original form and even with the cheeses having so much salt it just didn't have much flavour. I am a mother of a newborn so I suppose it is possible that I left something out, but I really can't think of what would have went wrong. I will try this one more time with a few of the suggested alterations though!

Peanut Butter Haystacks

This was an easy recipe to accomplish and everyone liked them. I would take a guess and say that this isn't for people who do not really like butterscotch to begin with. The crunch of the noodles worked so well with the pb and butterscotch. This one is worth me revisiting again. Thanks for the recipe!

Bacon Ranch Pasta Salad

I would have given it a 3.5 if possible. To be fair, it wasn't that this recipe isn't good but rather that my husband loves the box pasta salad so much, he remains faithful to it and the way it tastes instead. I think it may have been more of a texture issue because it kind of got creamy and stuck together. Like I said before, it is honestly a tasty recipe, but being creatures of habit we sadly prefer the box recipe just slightly.

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

It really can't get any easier than this. I always have these ingredients anyway, which is always a plus when I am on the hunt for a new recipe. My husband loves it, I put everything in one pot and go. This is exactly what a slow-cooker crock pot recipe should be. Tasty, easy, and pleasing for all. Thanks for the recipe!

Texas Ranch Potato Salad

I live in the south and a lot of people around here prefer the "salads" that are made with Miracle Whip and have sugar added to them. I prefer the more savory ones, and this one was great. This is definitely my kind of potato salad. Even still, my husband and all of his family prefer the other kind that I was talking about, BUT they all loved this one. Thanks for the recipe!

Breakfast Burritos

Very good base recipe! Here is the spin that I put on them: I used turkey bacon, and substituted red peppers -thinly sliced- in place of the onions. I also sprinkled some green Tobasco sauce over the eggs before rolling them, and used Pepper Jack cheese. I then topped the burritos with salsa and served them with Spanish whole grain rice. My husband LOVED the dinner! Next time, I think I will try little bits of sausage and maybe tater tots or shredded hashbrowns stuffed into them for breakfast.

Chinese Chicken Fried Rice II

Very surprised at how good and easy this was! I made a few alterations, though. I used brown rice (it was what I had on hand). Since I had chicken in the other dish I was serving, I omitted the chicken from the rice and just added a chicken bouillion cube to the water that cooked the rice. About 1 cup of frozen peas and carrots were added near the end. This recipe was very good especially when considering how easy it was and with the ingredients being common. This one went into the recipe box.

Three-Cheese Spaghetti Bake

This recipe is great because it can please very picky eaters and most of us have all of these ingredients handy. Easy prep and you can add black olives, onions and so on if you choose.(My husband loves it when I add sliced pepperoni to the top near the last 10 minutes.) I will say that I do prefer more sauce but that is an easy adjustment. So glad I found this recipe!

Cheddar Biscuit Cups

These turned out very good. I was thinking that the amount of cheese would be too much because I used extra Sharp Cheddar, but it wasn't at all. Super fluffy on the inside and just right on the outside. If I make these for dinner I think I will add some herbs or garlic. Thanks for the recipe!
