About this Cook
I'm a 20 year old student who recently discovered baking. I'm not sure why it hit me all of a sudden but I absolutely love it. If I've had a bad day, it's not unusual to hear me say "I need to bake!" then head off toward the kitchen.
My favorite things to cook
Anything new! I adore trying out new recipes. Stumbling upon allrecipes.com was perhaps one of the most exciting mistakes ever.
My cooking triumphs
My first layer cake- it was absolutely atrocious to look at but the layers held and the taste was very nice. I was happy regardless of it's obvious flaws :)
My cooking tragedies
Baking my first ever cheesecake and attempting a water bath. I wrapped the base in foil and poured the water in. Thankfully just the crust was in the springform pan. When I returned to check on it my cookies were swimming. Thankfully I had more cookies but that certainly sent me into a panic!

Bread Pudding II
I had never had bread pudding before I made this. This was fantastic! Absolutely delectable. Those that tried it, and had had bread pudding before said this was perfect. I used 7 slices of fresh, slightly toasted bread, a 9in, round pie dish, and 4 eggs. I also added 1/4c of brown sugar. I didn't eat it with sauce but my mom used a sauce from a maple butter blondie recipe from this site, added whipped cream, and said it was exactly like the dish she gets at a restaurant. So wonderful! Thank you **Update: I've made this with gluten free bread and it was just as tasty! It may need to be cooked a bit longer than called for if you prefer a firmer pudding, however.

Pumpkin Cake III
Absolutely fantastic! I only made the apple sauce modification mentioned by the other reviewers. This was unbelievably moist and so delicious. I used the cream cheese frosting II recipe and it was perfect for this cake. I would say the walnuts are a necessity.

Scarlett's Best Ever Sugar Cookies
These cookies were a huge hit- but do not expect tradition sugar cookies. They were much more like a pecan sandie, in flavor and in texture. They were delicious and I made no changes to the recipe, with the exception of excluding any decoration.
