These are yummy and soft, as decadent and delicious as they are different. Did I mention easy? Now go make some. :)

Super Easy Doughnuts

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2009
Though a first time donut maker, I cannot give this a better rating. What a mess. Did I need less milk as other reviews mentioned? Was the milk amount right? I have no idea. I followed the recipe exactly as listed. What I do know is this: I came -->.<-- this close to tossing the whole entire mess. In the end, because I didn't want to disappoint my kids, I persevered. They were not pretty, but they were edible and the kids loved them. And that's what matters, right? :)

We used Doritos (in place of the corn chips) and Catalina Dressing (in place of the salsa)...delicious!

Chocolate Cut Out Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2008
With a few modifications based on other reviews, I made these cookies for the first time with much success. They were very very easy and delicious. The only changes that I made were: 1) I used two large eggs (not three); 2) I added one extra TBSP of cocoa; 3) Because I was in a hurry, I chilled them for about an hour in the freezer. Once I removed them from the freezer, I immediately cut the dough in half and put half back into the refrigerator while I rolled and cut the first half. It worked like a dream. Highly recommend this recipe and these cookies. :)

Toasted Pumpkin Seeds

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2008
I made a few changes as well, as directed by PW on her site. I baked these at 250 for an hour. We also used olive oil instead of vegetable oil. These were a total hit with my 8yo. Which is good 'cause we made 4 pumpkins' worth of seeds. :P

Apple Crumb Pie

Oh my. Add some vanilla icecream to this while it's still warm and prepare yourself for a heavenly experience. SO good. This recipe is so easy to prepare...we used small apples from my parents' orchard and the result was fabulous!

Atomic Tuna Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2008
I've been making this recipe for 20 years. It has always been a favorite. I often eliminate the celery. I've also used other onions rather than red in a pinch (red is mostly for color). These days I use low-fat mayo rather than fat free. South Beach diet has changed my ways...the fat free just adds carbs.

Summer Squash Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2008
This wasn't 5 stars for me, by any means. I used less than half the nutmeg called for, as suggested by other reviewers. I had enough grated squash to make 1 1/2 of this recipe, so I made 2 loaves and 12 muffins. It worked out well that way. I just found these far too sweet. I will make this again, but will definitely use less sugar.

Corn Balls

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2008
I make these, but add the larger (15 oz) can of creamed corn and only 1/2 cup of water. Additionally, I add 4 TBSP melted butter and 3 beaten eggs. Once the balls are made, then pour 1/2 cup melted butter/margarine over them before baking. They are very good and the perfect side-dish for the family who never has enough stuffing.

Caramel Chocolate Corn

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2008
Ok...so I didn't allow my chocolate to melt enough to drizzle properly, but I followed the rest of the recipe to a "T" and this is just "ok". Maybe it's too hot/humid and maybe this would set up/cook better in the winter/fall? But as it is right now, it's just ok...nothing fab. and definitely not worth the effort/mess.

Garlic Green Beans

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2008
A friend (Karyn) gave me this recipe a few years ago and I've been making it since. I definitely add more garlic. I also warm the olive oil and garlic in a pan before tossing the green beans into it to warm a little longer. It's so delicious!

Mom's Baked Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2008
I used penne instead of macaroni because it's all that I had here. I also used cheddar in place of the colby for the same reason. It doesn't get any easier than this. This was even better the next day.

The Meatball that Fell Off the Table

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2008
I'm giving this four stars based on my 8 year old son's review of these meatballs...he loved them. My husband would give this a 3.5 if he could give a half rating. I'd have to agree. The nutmeg flavor in these is just too strong, in my humble opinion...too strong for a meatball. However...all is not lost...I plan on trying to make a stroganoff meatball next time using this recipe as a basis. (And I will completely eliminate the nutmeg, but double up on the onion). Thanks. :)

Chicken Fried Chicken

Reviewed: May 31, 2008
I wish that I could give this a 4.5. I'm giving it a 5, though...just because this is the first recipe for fried chicken that I've ever tried and it was very good. I made this twice this week. The second time, I skipped the flour and doubled the potato flakes instead. I also used garlic salt and crushed black pepper. I used canola oil rather than vegetable oil...trying to make this healthier. I also made some smaller strips for my 4 year old...he loved them. Very very easy recipe. Thank you! :)

Pan Pierogies

Reviewed: May 31, 2008
This is really truly a delicious, easy, fantastic recipe. I've made it many times in varying ways. You can simply layer any cooked pasta and mashed potatoes in the same manner as this recipe and get awesome results. By following this recipe as listed, I recommend cooking at least 4 pieces less of a pound of lasagna...otherwise, there's too much pasta. Additionally, I never think that I have enough cheese with just one pound. This is always just soooo good and a total pleaser.

Banana Split Cake II

Reviewed: May 25, 2008
Just made this today and it was really good and a hit at our picnic. I cheated by purchasing 2 pre-made vanilla wafer shells. I skipped the walnuts and drizzled with magic shell instead. I really wish that I had either mini chocolate chips for this and/or chocolate sprinkles.

Ham and Cheese Bowties

I doubled this recipe, eliminated the mustard and substituted a mix of cheddar and mozzarella for the colby(only because it's what I had here)...and this was deeeeee-licious! This will definitely be a favorite use for leftover ham in our family! Thank you! :)

I can't even tell you how many times I've recommended these little buggers. Both my husband and my son went ga-ga over these. Seriously ga-ga. They couldn't get enough. My husband even moaned while eating them cold. They are THAT good. A sure Sunday football game favorite around here...and then some!
