About this Cook
I don't follow recipes well.
My favorite things to cook
I love one dish dinners!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Holiday baking, holiday meals.
My cooking triumphs
I made a really great fish dinner once which I'm still trying to replicate with little success.
My cooking tragedies
Where do I start? I was cooking Christmas dinner for all my family and made two hams. The one we served was way too salty (must have been cured wrong) and so it made a too-salty-to-eat gravy. Plus I forgot to serve the carrots and the corn!

Grandma B's Bean Soup
I love this bean soup! I add a bit more spice and that is it.

Candied Chicken Breasts
Would be great with a little more spice to balance out the sweet. I like my pineapples cooked so I put them on before baking and poured the sauce over them. I also used pineapple juice instead of water like many others have done. Will be making this again with a bit of cayenne or other spicy pepper added.

Oven-Barbecued Pork Chops
I must have done something wrong with this recipe. I think the pork chops needed salt. I didn't have kechup so I replaced it with tomato paste. I also had thick boneless chops and they came out a bit dry. I'm not sure if I'll try this recipe again. Oh, I also don't have a cast iron skillet so I used an oven crock. The sauce was good over mashed potatoes! Maybe I can try it again and add some changes from other reviewers.
