About this Cook
Age 27, Married, No Children... I'm not a picky eater, that's for sure... I LOVE food and will try anything/everything at least once. I have three favorite cooks, my Grandmother and my other Grandmother & Grandfather.
My favorite things to cook
Salad... I tend to eat more veggies then meat and so does my husband, so we love to experiment with different vegetables and lettuces. We also enjoy grilling fish and chicken.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Baked ham for Christmas dinner, and instead of putting gravy on the ham we put applesauce. It's a great sweet(applesauce)/salty(ham) combo! Yum yum!
My cooking triumphs
I have to say the one thing I do really well is a baked spinach & artichoke dip. I serve it warm with sliced french bageutte. I also make a pretty awesome garden salad if I do say so myself :)
My cooking tragedies
Right now I am still a beginner... I am trying to learn but for now I'm sticking with simple stuff. Like really simple, rice, BBQ'd or baked fish, chicken or pork, lots of salads. No major tragedies, YET!

World's Best Lasagna
Excellent! This was my first time making Lasagna and I followed the recipe exactly as it is written. As some have mentioned it does take some time from start to finish but it is well worth it. One thing I did find was that it was a bit salty for my and my husband's taste. I think next time I make it (and I will absolutly be making this again!) I will reduce the salt that is called for. Other then that we enjoyed it very much, thanks!

Carrot Cake III
Excellent recipe! The cake turned out wonderfully and everyone enjoyed it. I followed tips provided by another reviewer, see gneebeanie's review dated Dec. 8, 2006. The cake could not have turned out or tasted any better... five stars all the way!

Homestyle Turkey, the Michigander Way
This was my first time hosting Thanksgiving dinner as well as my first time ever cooking a turkey. I choose this recipe based on member reviews and simplicity. I baked an 18lb turkey and it turned out great! I (being a beginner cook) followed the directions word for word and the turkey was moist, well flavored and my guests loved it! I did have to bake my turkey a bit longer then what the recipe stated but that was due to it being 6lbs larger then what the recipe called for. I would highly recommend this recipe (especially to beginner cooks like myself). Excellent recipe, thanks!
