About this Cook
I love horses and painting, designing, refurbishing furniture, plays and musicals, and city festivals. I love music and finding instruments and clothing from other cultures and countries. Friends are extremely important to me.I love attempting to cook things that are challenging or that I have never done before. I like meals to be easy and generally not take half a day to cook but still have an element of gourmet to them. I am gluten intolerant and all my foods are usually cooked with organic ingredients. Very few items in my kitchen are processed. I love making decadent and challenging desserts and then plating them decoratively making them look even better. I love cooking with all kinds of foods and spices and making/tasting different flavors. I don't like dishes to be subtle.
My favorite things to cook
stir fry, onion rings, cream puffs, cupcakes, things with a lot herbs and flavors to them. a lot of Italian and Asian dishes. Nothing bland in my kitchen!!!!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I used to watch my mom cook when I was younger and as I got older I wanted to cook and so I broke out the skillet and made my first teriyaki stir fry. since then the kitchen has to be one of the most used rooms in the house. As far as traditions go, growing up my mom cooked a lot of pot pies, soups/stews, meatloaf, steak and fried potatoes, and of course chocolate chip cookies!
My cooking triumphs
Me and a friend (Lady Equus) both love cooking and we got together one day and decided to try to make our own onion rings (after smelling them down the street). Turned out delicious!!
My cooking tragedies
a artichoke heart wine sauce. ended up tasting like really light olive oil which was weird since there was no olive oil in it.

Creamy Pumpkin Pie
I really liked this recipe!! My only criticism is that there we we weren't enough spices. i added cloves but the measurements aren't strong enough for me. In most cases I am not a huge pie fan, I always find them too sweet and almost sickening but this was just sweet enough!!!! came out soooooo tasty!!! a huge hit with everyone! we also used a white pumpkin for this. I don't think that makes much of a difference but I thought I would add it.

Pastry for Double-Crust Pie
This recipe was perfect and really easy. I used for chicken pot pie. I ended up with not enough for the top layer though I might double it next time just to be sure I have enough.

Chicken Pot Pie IX
This was heaven!!!!!! everyone loved it! its alot of work but well worth it and not overly difficult. although the gravy was a little plain for me. Next time I might add some herbs to it.
