About this Cook
I lived in Northern California for most of my life. I thought I never wanted to get married so I didn't think I needed to learn how to cook...until I met my husband. I now enjoy trying new recipes.
My favorite things to cook
Brownies! I used to not like chocolate much but now I love it! I also love to cook a crab cream recipe which everyone loves.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom makes tamales for christmas and so when I got married I also made it a tradition.
My cooking triumphs
I learned how to make my husband's favorite drink called cebada( a traditional drink of El Salvador). I also made salvadorian tamales a couple of years ago for christmas. My mother gave me the recipe over the phone and she walked me through the whole thing! I was so proud of myself because they actually tasted like hers!
My cooking tragedies
I never learned how to make pupusas(another salvadorian favorite). I just never learned how to make the tortilla part of the recipe.

Baked Zucchini Squares
I made these for a potluck at work and everyone liked them. It was easy to make and very quiche-like.
