About this Cook
I'm a wife and mother to a 3 year old. My family is the most important thing in my life. They keep me going and inspire me everyday. There are 3 things in this world that fill my soul with joy and love. My beautiful family, music (the soundtrack of my life) and cooking! Food ties it all together. I come from an Italian family from NYC(originally not from Oklahoma, because there is no culture in Oklahoma)my grandmother was a great cook so Iam trying honor her memory by keep her families recipes alive as well as creating new ones for my family. !
My favorite things to cook
My absolute favorite food is Italian and Tex-mex. I love, love, love Fajitas, guacamole, chips and salsa. Pasta! All kinds. One thing I very proud of is that I can make any sauce homemade. Marinara, Meat, Alfredo, All variations of Aglio Olio. I'm just make great sauces. Not just italian but all kinds. I'd rather eat at home than go to a restaurant because I know I can make it better and it will satisfy my craving. I have the most incredible fajita marinade. Homemade salsa, guacamole, meatballs, pepersteak, meatloaf, Risotto. Too many fav's to name.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Thanksgiving! My mom's Broccoli Rice cassarole, yams! That reminds me of my mom. Chicken Parm reminds me of my dad! Now I do the Brocolli rice cassarole and Yam's for Thanksgiving and My husband does the sauce and the chicken parm!
My cooking triumphs
My fajita's, this recent peppersteak I made was fantastic. I will never eat chinese food out again. I like to think that when I have a craving instead of going out. I can make it at home. Its all about Quality Control!
My cooking tragedies
Vegetable sushi. I don't like Nori. So I tried to make it without it.
