Oat Whole Wheat Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2010
wow! i am the worst when it comes to making homemade bread. While it took me a few times to get the milk and yeast right and the dough didn't rise as fast as the recipe says, the bread had a wonderful flavor and came out moist. the one and only thing i did different is to use my kitchenaid mixer to knead the dough (i cut the kneading time in half for it). thanks for the recipe!!

Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2010
These are really easy and yummy! i followed the recipe the way it is, save using a glass 9x13 pan and changing the temp to 325 degrees for just a bit longer. No eggs means those with egg allergies can eat the dough! ;) Very good, thank you for sharing!!!

Pot Stickers Traditional

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2010
these were really yummy! I used ground chicken instead of ground pork and the sauce, I thought, was way too spicy. I definitely need to practice folding the wraps b/c mine looked nothing like the picture but they still tasted great!

Refried Beans Without the Refry

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2010
these are awesome!! I usually just buy refried beans in a can. Never again!! I did do this a little differently. I used chicken broth and since I didn't find the recipe til after I started cooking the beans I used a pot on the stove for around 4 hours but I could've cooked them a little longer. They are still the best beans I have tasted and will use this recipe over and over!! Thanks!!

Beef Stroganoff III

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2009
I don't typically keep wine in the house so I ended up using beer instead. I soaked a chuck roast for a couple of hours in the beer ahead of time and ommitted adding it to the sauce at the end. While I am sure it gave it a different flavor, it was DELICIOUS! My kids ate it up and asked me to make it one of our regular meals! I didn't have egg noodles in the house one time making this so I made homemade dumplings instead. I also used flour instead of corn starch but used a bit less than what was asked for. If I thought it was getting too thick I just added a little more beef broth to thin it out. But I do like a thicker gravy. This is very good! Thank you for the recipe!! 8D

Cream of Mushroom Soup I

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2009
So yummy!! A bit time consuming but worth the effort. This was my first time making any cream type of soup and I was very pleased with the result. I will say it needed a bit more "flavor" more salt or something that seemed to be missing. Regardless of that I will be making this again and again. My kids Loved it! So much better than the store bought soups!! Thank you for the recipe!

Ranch Dressing II

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2009
I wanted something with ingredients I could pronounce and that would taste really good. I am not really a ranch dressing person but my kids are, so I thought I would try this...I LOVE it!! So did the kids and hubby!! Incredibly easy to make too, with ingredients I already had around the house. The only thing I did differently was to use fresh chives because I didn't have dried ones. So good, I will make this over and over!!! Thanks for the recipe! 8D

Garlic Chicken Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2009
This is the BEST fried chicken I have tried on this website!! I took other reviwers' suggestions...not using bread crumbs only flour with the spices, soaking the chicken with buttermilk for a few hours, coating the chicken right from the buttermilk soak (egg allergy), I fried the coated chicken in some peanut oil about 2 minutes each side (to brown up) and then placed it on a wire rack in the oven at 375 degrees for about 15 minutes or so (depending on how small I cut up the pieces). The chicken was incredibly tender inside but crunchy outside...I will say, though, add more spices, while the chicken had flavor it could've used a bit more. Kids and husband LOVE it and I will be using this one again and again!! Thank you very much for sharing!!!! 8D

Mini Cheesecakes

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2009
These are so easy!!! They were very good too! Hubby had a bring snacks to work day and I decided on these for a summery type of snack...a big hit!! The first thing to go! Since this was the first time for me to make a cheesecake I was unsure of what they look like done but I followed another reviewer and waited til they became cracked on top a little. They turned out perfect! While the vanilla wafers are easier I think they would taste better with crushed graham crackers mixed with butter and fresh fruit instead of the pie topping. Either way they were still delicious! Thanks for the recipe!!

Hearty Meatball Sandwich

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2009
This was so Yummy!! My hubby really doesn't care for meatball sandwiches but he really liked this one!! I used ground turkey breast and on the second try omitted the onions (daughter didn't like them)and they were very yummy. On my second try I actually balled up the meat mixture for meatballs and it took about 20 minutes to cook through(I am extremely impatient)and they tasted the same as if I made it the original way. Thanks for the recipe!!

Best Marinara Sauce Yet

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2009
This sauce was really yummy! I find at restaurants marinaras seem too runny and watery...this was perfect! I used it for a meatball sandwich recipe and it went perfectly! Nice and thick, I may end up using this sauce on pasta when I go meatless! Thanks! 8D

Seasoned Oven Fries

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2009
I don't usually choose recipes with so few reviews but I needed a "fry" recipe and thought this one sounded good. It was VERY good!! I used more spices than the recipe required (cayenne pepper, garlic powder, paprika and extra ground pepper) but I like spicy. I cut them a little smaller too. I also used a pizza stone to bake them on...they came out crispy but not too crispy. My husband really liked these as well as the kids (I was asked why I didn't make more)...I will be reusing this one and doubling the recipe. Very easy and very delicious!!

Mom's Country Gravy

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2009
I needed a quick country gravy recipe and thought to try this one...I used the oil and I have to say it was not very good. It didn't taste floury, just too oily. I will try it again but with bacon greese or butter. Should've read the reviews before cooking.

Sauerbraten Klopse (Sauerbraten Meatballs)

Reviewed: May 15, 2009
While the meatballs themselves were awesome, the sauce was too sweet...I think the next time I will tone down on the brown sugar. I did follow other reviewers suggestions and baked the meatballs instead of pan frying. I too had problems getting the flour to break up for the gravy...something I will figure out.

Crazy Crust Pizza Dough

Reviewed: May 13, 2009
I have never made pizza dough before and am not very good at using yeast. This recipe turned out great! I put it in the oven for 10 minutes then added the toppings (used the pizza sauce III recipe on this site). I did add garlic powder, onion powder and baking powder and a little basil like other reviewers mentioned. Really good and really easy!
