Very , very good. After rolling into balls I let mine rise for one more hour. They were delicious, will definitely make again!

Chocolate Crinkles II

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2009
soooooo deliciously good. I wish I hadn't halved the recipe now. I might just have to make another batch. They taste like little brownie bites. I froze my batter for 45 minutes prior to making balls, as per reviewers' suggestions. I used my cookie scoop and plopped them right in the powdered sugar and then rolled them into balls. I had no problems whatsoever with stickiness. I coated them heavily in the powdered sugar and was rewarded with a beautiful crackly-top! I will most definitely make these again...probably tomorrow, in fact! ;)

Venice High School Cherry Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2009
These are delicious! I'm actually surprised more people haven't tried them. I wouldn't call them a butter cookie, though. It tastes like a cherry shortbread cookie...so very good, whatever the name! I omitted the walnuts and added a handful of Christmas sprinkles to give the cookies extra color. Also, the cookies were perfect in 12 minutes for me~light brown on the bottom...so watch your oven closely. They'll be dry and crumbly if you leave these beauties in for too long. I'm so happy I tried these this year!

Delicious!! I used low fat mozzarella and reduced fat Parmesan. I also added some spinach to the ricotta mixture. It was truly yummy!

Cherry Pound Cake

This is a very good cake and very festive-looking for the holidays. I made the glaze as suggested by many reviewers but I would actually just do a dusting of powdered sugar next time. I'll definitely make this again!

Brownie Tarts

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2009
This is my second time making these. The first time I filled them to the top with the brownie batter and that was too high. The taste, however, was wonderful! So I tried again and this time I filled just under 3/4 of the way with the brownie batter. If you're looking for something a little different for your cookie trays, you should try these! Of all the cookies I've made this year, and I've made quite a few, these by far are the favorites of everyone in my family. SO yummy! :)

Candy Cane Cookies III

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2009
These are such pretty cookies! I used butter instead of margarine and doubled the peppermint extract. I sprinkled red and white sugar crystals on them before baking instead of using the crushed candy canes. I think with a recipe like this you have to go into it knowing it's going to be a pain in the rear end to make them :) You need a very gentle touch when rolling out the ropes and plenty of mine were do-overs because they tore while I tried to twist them. But I trudged forward and was rewarded with a spectacular-looking treat. They didn't puff at all in the oven! Will definitely make again next year!

Simply Sensational Truffles

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2009
What's not to love about this?? It's cream cheese and chocolate :) I followed the recipe exactly and they turned out beautifully. I didn't have that hard of a time shaping them, I let them hang out in the frig a good couple of hours before I tackled the job of shaping them into balls and then I let them hang out again before I dipped them. Sooo good :)

Jam Filled Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2009
These were delicious! I followed the recipe exactly. I used a clean chapstick cap dipped in flour to make my indentations. They really were easy to make and I loved that you don't need to refrigerate the dough. I will definitely make them again!

Rich Chocolate Chip Toffee Bars

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2009
I made these to take to a party. I did omit the nuts. I think these are good but I'm just not crazy about the sweetened condensed milk in them for some reason. I wonder what it would be like with a jar of caramel sauce poured over instead of the milk...I may try that :) But, it's obviously all up to individual tastes. Looking at the reviews, most people loved them. I liked them but don't think I'd make them "as is" again, I may try the caramel :) Thanks for posting!

Chicken Flautas

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2009
These were really good! I cooked my chicken in the crock pot with a jar of HOT salsa, low for 5 hours, shred then 1 hour more. I took the tip of putting my corn tortillas in a damp paper towel in the microwave for 30 seconds. I did 3 tortillas at a time. I put a lot more than 1 Tbs per chicken per tortilla simply to cut on the servings of tortillas per person...less calories :) I used fat free cheddar and we dipped them in fat free sour cream. I used a baking sheet sprayed with Pam and I also used Pam on the flautas...no oil. They were crispy, spicy and tasty. Will definitely make again, thanks!

Exquisite Pizza Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2009
I really can't believe how easy this was to make. It was REALLY good, a nice kick to it with the red peeper flakes. The only thing I omitted was the anchovy paste. Next time I make this I will double it and freeze in single-serving portions for when we make pizzas. GREAT recipe! Oh, this does make plenty...I used it to top two pizzas and we still have some left over :)

Valentino's Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2009
So far this produced the thinnest crust pizza, which is what we were looking for. I used this recipe and made two pizzas with it. With the first pizza I prebaked the crust for 10 minutes on the middle rack (on a pizza stone) then added the toppings. It was thin but the middle of the pizza could have been crispier. With the second pizza, I prebaked it for ten minutes on the lowest rack in the oven, added the toppings and returned it to the lowest rack to finish. This made a BIG difference. This was incredibly easy to make. *****Update*****I've made this several times now and have gotten my technique down on how to get it nice and thin and CRISPY! :) I divide the dough in half and use one half per pizza. After spreading it on my stone, I bake it for 10 minutes on the lowest rack at 500 degrees. Then I lower the temp to 450, add the toppings and bake til the cheese is bubbly. When you bite into the crust you can actually hear it crunch! SO so so happy I tried this recipe :)

Cheese Garlic Biscuits II

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2009
We had mixed feelings on these biscuits. The picky 5-year old loved them, my 7-year old, who will usually eat almost anything, did not like them at all, my husband said they were OK and I finished half of one. The alterations I made were using less butter on top after baking and baking these on a parchment-lined sheet. When I took them out of the oven, there were little puddles of butter surrounding each biscuit. This is why I used only a little bit of butter to brush on top. They were just SO greasy, I could barely eat mine. Thanks for posting but I won't make this one again, just not for us...most of us, that is :)

Spicy Beef Vegetable Stew

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2009
This is the first time I tried an unrated recipe on AR and I'm glad I did! We really enjoyed this soup. I did not have celery so I left that out but I will add it the next time I make this. For my frozen mixed veggies, I used a bag of zucchini, green beans and carrots. Obviously with the addition of spaghetti sauce, this is a very "tomato-y" soup. My husband thought there was a little too much tomato taste but he still ate up his bowl and went for seconds. My two young boys both gave this 5 stars, even the picky little one...which doesn't happen often. I did add 1/4 cup of barley during the last hour of cooking. Oh, and my boys enjoyed dipping mini saltine crackers in their soup :) I will definitely make this soup again, thanks for posting!

S'mores Crumb Bars

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2009
These are insanely good! Gooey and yummy are the two words my boys used to describe them. I followed the recipe to a "T" and had no problems whatsoever with the crust staying together. I used my food processor to make my graham cracker crumbs and it worked great. I used slightly more than half the crumbs on the bottom and sprinkled the rest on the top. Will absolutely make again!

Grocery Store Frosting

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2009
I love, love, love the frosting that comes on the cakes at the grocery store. I know some say it's "too sweet" but, for me, there's no such thing! :) This frosting is SO GOOD! I made it just as the recipe states and it was more than enough to frost 24 cupcakes, plus a bit left for us all to lick off our spoons :) Will make again and again!

Scrumptious Frosted Fudgy Brownies

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2009
We are a brownie-loving household and we all gave these brownies an enthusiastic 5 stars...and my 5 year-old does not give out a five star rating very often ;)The only change I made to the recipe is I omitted the nuts and sprinkled the top with m&ms. Rich and fudgy, just like we like it :) Thanks for the recipe!

Caramel Apple Dip

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2009
This is really good, better than I expected, in fact! I made it as a back-to-school treat for my boys and they gobbled it up and then asked for more apple slices so they could eat the last of it :) I followed the recipe exactly, no changes at all and none needed. this is a keeper!

Supreme Bagel Pizzas

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2009
I used mini bagels. My boys had theirs with mini pepperoni and I did ham for me. Definitely toast the bagels first as others have said. I did not do that the first time I made these and they do get soggy :( But if you toast them first they are really a yummy little treat! :)
