About this Cook
I'm a stay-at-home mom to 2 wonderful kids, Clayton, who's 5 and Alexa who is 3. I've been married to my best friend since 2000. We are very involved in our church and are actually part of a church plant in South Sioux City, Nebraska.
My favorite things to cook
Baking is my favorite, usually cookies because they are so easy and my kids can help with them. I do enjoy using my Crockpot because the food always turns out great and I hardly did anything!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Thousands and thousands of Christmas cookies! Not really, but my mom would make about a dozen different kinds of cookies for Christmas and she would usually start right after Thanksgiving and freeze the cookies. I remember coming home from school and my mom would be in the kitchen baking...good memories
My cooking triumphs
My cooking triumph will have to be that I have vastly improved since marrying, much to my husband's delight!
My cooking tragedies
making rice krispie bars hard as a rock, grabbing the wrong box and adding Cream of Wheat to a recipe instead of rice, so many more unfortunately

Texas Caviar II
I substituted pinto beans for the black-eyed peas, because that's what I had on hand. I also used homemade salsa. The kids and I thought it was a great after-swimming snack!

Smooth Sweet Tea
My husband went to Atlanta a couple weeks ago and had sweet tea for the first time and LOVED it. He thinks this recipe is just like what he had in Atlanta. Thanks for a great recipe!
