I am a medical transcriptionist and pianist. I play piano and sing for our Praise Team and play for the choir/congretational singing. I love to scrapbook, make cards and do anything creative with stamping and paper. I have two lovely, grown daughters and my husband is a Baptist minister (music) We have two dogs and I have two grand-dogs!
My favorite things to cook
I really like to bake - breads, cookies, cakes. I like to try new dinner recipes but with my time constraints they have to be fairly simple, or quick, meals. My husband is not a fan of casseroles so that limits a lot of what I can try.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I always make cherry muffins for Christmas morning breakfast. My mother always made them. You make them about two weeks ahead of time and keep them air-tight. They are wonderful with a cup of coffee while opening presents. Our newest tradition since the girls are grown is David's prime rib that he makes for Christmas dinner. Why turkey again so soon?
My cooking triumphs
Everyone loves my stuffing at Thanksgiving. But my all time best dish is potato salad. I get many request for it and never bring any home! I also make an orange salad that everyone loves.
My cooking tragedies
I recently tried a new recipe for cookies that had mints crushed up in them. They had no flavor and fell apart.
