Chewy Peanut Butter Brownies

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2009
This should be called a peanut butter cookie bar. I would not consider these brownies, texture was too much like a cookie. I added some chocolate chips . These tasted great and I would make them again

Best of the Best Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2009
These muffins were good after making some adjustments. I used half the sugar and next time I will cut the amount of Blueberries in half. I used sugar crystals on top, that added a nice little crunch on the top.

Garlic Chicken with Orzo Noodles

this was a great easy dish. I substituted fresh basil for the spinach leaves. I also used 5 cloves of garlic(we love garlic coming out of our pores).

Lemon Poppy Seed Muffins I

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2009
This is the best lemon poppy seed muffins I have had. The texture was wonderful and the taste was not too sweet. I baked for 15 minutes at 400, anymore time and they would have overdone. The only thing I changed was I used butter instead of oil.

Golden Crescent Rolls

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2009
The texture was nice but lacking in flavor. I followed the recipe exactly. Next time I make these I will add half butter and half shortning to the dough, to achieve the buttery flavor.

Sauteed Apples

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2009
great recipe! I cut the servings down to 2, and used a fuji apple that was too soft too eat. I cut back on the sugar to 1 tbsp brown sugar, to compensate for a sweeter apple.

Sweet Potato Pie VII

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2008
This was the first time I have ever tasted or made sweet potato pie and it was tasty. I made these in 3/4 cup ramekins for individual servings and cut the recipe in half. The texture was very creamy and the outside edges were chewy. I added some spices to the pie. Instead of 1/2 cup sugar I only added 1/3 cup sugar to balance the sweetness of the graham cracker crust. I used a graham cracker crust, made from homemade graham crackers, and it was fabulous. Next time I will try it with a traditional pie crust. I will be making this recipe again and again.

Coconut Cream Meringue Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2008
This is so good! Coconut cream pie is my favorite. I did not use the meringue on top, I just toasted some of the coconut and sprinkled on top,3/4 cup in pie and 1/4 cup on top. I also cut the sugar down to 1/3 cup. The coconut I used was sweetend and my family doesn't really like things too sweet. I just ate this with some coffee for breakfast, and it was just what I wanted.

French Crepes

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2008
This was a pretty good crepe, it tasted similar to what I had in Paris. They came out golden brown, with a light texture. The only problem with them is they were way too greesy. I made the recipe just like it says. The milk I used was 2%. Next time I make these I will add 1 tbsp to the batter. As for the color of the crepe, a real french crepe SHOULD be golden brown. When I was in paris, all the crepes that I had were golden brown and took a long time to cook. For my filling, cook your crepe on both sides until golden brown then add your fillings. I used 1 lightly beaten egg and spread it around added salt and pepper, maybe a large tablespoon cheese, and thinly sliced ham. I folded it over to enclose the filling, so they would cook. Then folded them over again to make a triangle. This took about 5 min to complete 1 crepe. Even though the crepe looks like it will be crispy it won't be and you will have a more authentic French crepe. I used a 12 inch non-stick pan and used about 1/2 cup batter. I used between a med low heat and med.

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies III

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2008
I liked the texture of these cookies but they were very bland. I first made these with half the sugar and just cinnamon, very bland. I then added some ginger and nutmeg to these and the rest of the sugar. they were a little better. I will not be making these again.

Mom's Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2008
Great flavor and texture. I only used 2% milk instead of milk and cream. I pre-baked my pie crust so I wouldn't have a mushy bottom. I will be saving this recipe to make again in the future.

Gingerbread Waffles

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2008
These waffles were very soft. They had pretty good gingerbread flavor. I only added 1 large tablespoon of brown sugar and 2 tablespoons of molasses, other wise they would have been way too sweet for my families taste. I also added ground nutmeg. I did not use raisins, instead, I used sliced bananas. I put the bananan on top of the waffle before cooking, while the waffle cooked the bananas carmalized on top and gave it such a wonderful flavor. I don't know if I would make them again, but they were worth trying at least once.

Cabbage on the Grill

very good. I grilled the cabbage with canola cooking spray, salt and pepper. I had a small cabbage and only cut into quarters. It took a very long time to cook, next time I will cut into 8 wedges.

Banana Cream Pie I

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2008
This was so tasty! I used 1/2 cup of sugar and next time I will cut the sugar back a little more. The natural sweetness of the ripe bananas made this pie pretty sweet. I took the advice of other reviews and didn't bake this pie. I used 3 tablespoons of cornstarch instead of the flour, I didn't want the flour taste in the pudding. When heating the milk mixture it took about 6-7 minutes on medium to set. I used a basic pie crust with half whole wheat pastry flour and all-purpose flour. I baked the pie shell and let it cool before putting the bananas and pudding in the pie shell. Chilled overnight and ate this for breakfast with coffee.
