Turkey Brine

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2008
"The best white meat I've ever had," according to my brother. Very moist and flavorful. I roasted two 15-pound turkeys for Thanksgiving this year (big family!). The one done in my (gas) oven was perfect in about three hours, while the one in my sister's (electric) oven was a little over-done in the same time (but still tasty) -- use a good thermometer. So delicious, my other sister even tried to take the credit!

Basic Chicken Stock

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2008
Excellent! I had never made my own stock before, but there was too much meat on my leftover Thanksgiving turkey bones to just throw it away. I finally used my stock pot for something besides bobbing for apples, and the stock was so delicious!

Honey Barbecued Spare Ribs

Our family prefers a more BBQ flavor. The soy was too overpowering.

Ratatouille Pasta

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2008
This is one of my family's all-time favorite dinners. As suggested by others, the only change we make is substituting fresh parmesan cheese. Thank you for a family favorite!

Cupcake Brownies

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2007
Delicious, fudgy brownies, and so easy to make. My 10-year-old daughter made them with only minimal help. We love the idea of making them cupcake-style because they bake much more quickly. They are a perfect treat for lunchboxes. We'll be making them again and again!

Bulgogi (Korean Barbecued Beef)

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2007
I have never rated a recipe before, but after my very picky kids called this their "new favorite dinner," I just had to thank you for this great recipe. My husband, who lived in Korea for some time, also loved it. I omitted the MSG and marinated it overnight. I slightly overcooked it on the BBQ (it was still wonderful), so watch it carefully. We ate it wrap-style in romaine lettuce leaves with rice. Next time, I will double the recipe because we inhaled it all and then licked our plates. Thank you!
