I took a break from the daily grind, of work and stress, even gave up cooking for a week to turn my camera towards the scenery and vegetation surrounding  Catalina Island.   It was a much needed vacation getaway and  as the rest of the… MORE

This caramel apple dip is so yummy that I had to submit it here; I will keep my fingers crossed because we know how long that can take!  I have since seen a similar recipe under desserts  (thanks Jen) so maybe AR will still aprove this as a dip!..  We double this and… MORE

We spent some time outside today in the beautiful sunshine, Buttercup and I... Tending to my little pot garden (no I don't mean the illegal stuff but referring to my container garden of vegetables and herbs) I recently started. As you can see I was so excited today that my little babies… MORE

With the sunny warm weather almost here, I give a big sigh of relief and wish the long grey winter days good riddance!... I dread the winter although I know that like the verse and song says "there is a time for everything" and  I know winter has it's purpose... It seems to bring… MORE

My Valentines Day was special... I woke up to my husband sneaking back into our room with some little presents; a tiny little stuffed brown bear with a red heart on his chest.. A heart shaped box of my favorite "Rocher" chocolates and a  big boquet of mixed flowers in purples and pinks...& MORE

My friend Myra called me and said that she and her fiance' were coming down to visit us this weekend  from the Bay Area... The guys were going to do music and hang out (my hubby sings and her fiance' plays guitar) and she asked me if I wanted to go with… MORE

About Me
Hi, I'm Traci a wife and mother of two boys; a teen and a tween! I enjoy cooking mostly because I love good food.. Now that I'm a "Full-Time Domestic Goddess" lol I'm cooking more! Some nights we "rough it" and everyone fixes what they want ie: sandwich, cereal, pbj... I first started cooking when I was a teenager. I started cooking from my moms' Betty Crocker cookbook. I loved to make me and my brother yummy treats! Now I love making them for my boys!..
My favorite things to cook
Some of our favorite meals have been recipes I've found here, such as, Seafood Cioppino, Shrimp Durango, and Chicken Satay. We all have sweet tooths and I like to bake a dessert at least once a week.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Whoever's birthday it is gets to pick their favorite dinner; both of my boys have picked "Seafood Cioppino" on their last birthdays! When my oldest turned 18 he brought five of his friends home to try it!
My cooking triumphs
I fed about 25 people at a baby shower I hosted for my sister in-law some months back. It was my first time cooking for so many people. I'm proud of myself, even if I did do FROZEN ravioli's! =)
My cooking tragedies
About 5 minutes before company was due to arrive I had the second batch of garlic bread under the broiler which I asked my oldest son to take out for me so I could finish getting ready! It was so embarrasing, the smoke alarm was going off when the guests arrived!.. He'obviously forgot about it!
