About this Cook
I am a Wisconsin native that loves to be outdoors, either camping, fishing, or playing sports. And, of course, cooking with my wife!
My favorite things to cook
Simple meals. In my experience (some of which has been with the greatest cook I know - an Italian Grandmother), great meals do not need to have 30 ingredients. Often a cheap cut of meat with the right cooking will taste just as good, if not better, than an expensive meal.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family's homemade Italian Sausage is second-to-none! The preparation is the real highlight, bringing family members together.
My cooking triumphs
Carrying on the family tradition of homemade Italian Sausage has always been a source of pride. Cooking turkey and ham dinners to 50+ hungry college students was very fun as well.
My cooking tragedies
When I was about 12, I was making homemade garlic bread and misread the recipe. Needless to say, in no case should anyone put 6 cups of salt in a single loaf of bread. I've since learned to read ingredients thoroughly!

Roast Beef Stew
Very good stew, especially since it doesn't take very long to make. The consistency is perfect, the tomato juice adds great flavor. I made the following modifications: used 2 lbs of beef instead of 2 cups (would recommend this, or at least adding more than suggested), used 4 stalks each of chopped carrots and celery. I also accidentally forgot the lima beans, which my fiance was happy about but I would have liked to try it included. I dredged the beef chunks in flour and browned with oil and 4 cloves of chopped garlic. I used a regular stove-top soup pan (I have an electric range so I stirred often to avoid burning). Still have some leftovers and plan to make again!

Suzy's Mashed Red Potatoes
VERY good; I have made this recipe a lot and have no suggestions because it is great the way it is described!

Best Chicken Ever
Tasty, but as other reviewers did, I added more spices to the breading mixture(garlic powder, seasoning salt, and more Italian seasoning - be generous as amount indicated in ingredients is a bit bland). Be generous with the sour cream, that is a good source of flavor in the chicken. P.S. - An easy way of crushing the corn flakes is to put into a ziploc bag and mash with just abotu anything.
