I am a Wisconsin native that loves to be outdoors, either camping, fishing, or playing sports. And, of course, cooking with my fiance! Simple meals. In my experience (some of which has been with the greatest cook I know - an Italian Grandmother), great meals do not need to have 30 ingredients. Often a cheap cut of meat with the right cooking will taste just as good, if not better, than an expensive meal containing 10 spices a layperson has never heard of. My family's homemade Italian Sausage is second-to-none! The preparation is the real highlight, bringing family members together to smell, eat, drink, and if we get around to it, cook! My homemade meatballs are also well-received. Carrying on the family tradition of homemade Italian Sausage has always been a source of pride. Cooking turkey and ham dinners to 50+ hungry college students was very fun as well. When I was about 12, I was making homemade garlic bread and misread the recipe. Needless to say, in no case should anyone put 6 cups of salt in a single loaf of bread. I've since learned to read ingredients thoroughly!
