About this Cook
I LOVE to eat! Living in Hawaii, I can choose what I'd like to eat from the many different types of ethnic foods found here. I grew up eating out often, as my mom didn't like to cook. Our oven was broken for the entire time that I have lived in our home in Kaneohe. I would go over to my neighbors' (friends') house and help her bake cookies! I think that because I didn't have to cook when I was young, I now ENJOY cooking.
My favorite things to cook
Although I like to make dinner, my favorite is making desserts.
My cooking triumphs
My cooking triumphs are when my husband says it's good and he requests the food again!
My cooking tragedies
About 8 years ago, I tried to substitute salt for ajinomoto. The dish was SOO salty, I had to throw it away!

Super Grilled Salmon
This was delicious! Not only did my husband and I enjoy this, but a friend of mine (I gave her some for dinner) raved about it and wants the recipe.

Spinach and Sun-Dried Tomato Pasta
This is good as a side dish (or add some meat to the pasta to make it a main course). I used bowtie pasta instead of penne, and only 3/4 cup of broth (because of other reviews). Everything else was done as directed per the recipe. Because there is no meat in this dish, my husband heated up some leftover chicken to eat with his pasta.

Sweet Potato Minestrone
This soup is okay. It did taste better after I added tobasco to my soup. I guess it's just not my kind of soup, although my husband liked the soup because this soup is "healthy". On the night this soup was made, the tomato flavor overpowered the sweet potato., but on the second night, the sweet potato flavor came through. It took longer than the 30 minutes to make the vegetables tender (unless you like semi-crunchy vegetables). I ended up simmering it for one hour.
