I'm really enjoying learning how to cook. I have a two very young children, so I usually don't get much time to do so! I love to be outside, play my guitar, sing, dance around with my kids, play sports, and go on dates with my husband.
My favorite things to cook
Chicken alfredo seems to be the dish I cook the most. I also like cooking fajitas, and grilling salmon. I'd like to learn to cook a much wider variety of lean meats and vegetables.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I'm from the South... so as you can imagine my family is all about fried chicken, buttermilk biscuits, mashed potatoes and gravy, collard greens, potato salads, and grilling out. I love big southern dinners (although I'm not a big fan of how unhealthy it is).
My cooking triumphs
I'd say learning to cook fish has been my biggest triumph. I've always shyed away from fish, because I didn't know what to do with it.
My cooking tragedies
Well, for awhile I couldn't even bake chocolate chip cookies because I kept putting self rising flour in when the recipe called for all purpose. I also made my husband a pumpkin pie this year and forgot to add the sugar. Forgetting ingredients seems to be my downfall.
