About this Cook
I've lived in Michigan my entire life which means I want to retire to Florida, or at least some place warmer. I have a lovable old golden retriever and two perfect little kitties. Three years ago I found my perfect house. I have two grown sons and two of the most beautiful granddaughters ever. I feel very blessed!
My favorite things to cook
Pie. I love to bake pie. I make a killer crust with a secret ingredient passed down from a great aunt.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Ever year at Christmas my family makes a wonderful spice cookie brought over from Germany by my great grandmother. It's not Christmas without them or my mother's black bottom pie (pie again!!!). They make the house smell wonderful and they are awesome with a cup of coffee.
My cooking triumphs
One year I made the most beautiful Easter dinner. The good china, crystal and sliverware came out. Candles were lit and there were fresh flowers on the table. It was magic. Probably the most perfect meal I've ever made.
My cooking tragedies
Shortly after my I was first married, I had invited some friends over for dinner. I made a recipe for pot roast out of a magazine I had that looked really good. I did the recipe exactly as it was written. When we were ready to sit down to dinner, I took it out of the oven and it was burnt to a crisp. My guests were great. They ate it anyway and told me it was really good.

Slow Cooker Sauerkraut and Sausage
This was so good. I'm usually not a big fan of sauerkraut, but this recipe changed my mind. I rinsed and drained the kraut before I added the brown sugar, and I used smoked sausage. I will definitely be making this again.

Fudge
This was really good and easy. I used two cups of milk chocolate chips and one cup of semi-sweet. I also added a teaspoon of vanilla. Perfect!

Southern Comfort Manhattan
My absolutely most favorite drink. I've never made them at home until now. Thanks!
