About this Cook
I am a cosmetologist and a Mom of 2 girls.
My favorite things to cook
I cook home-style food the best. Meat loaf, sloppy joes, stroganoff, casseroles, etc. are my favorite. I like to use the grill also. I like to keep things simple when I cook..less cleanup that way!! ;)
My favorite family cooking traditions
My Mom is an AWSOME cook...I learned so much from her. I started out by browning the hamburger and peeling the potatoes for her...I bet many of us started out by helping Mom in the kitchen! I've never had a "bad meal" at Mom's. Getting together for making Kraut Bierocks which we actually always called "kraut bears" for some reason...is the one tradition we have as a family. We don't do it often but when we do it very often as it's hard to get everyone together but it's a great memory maker!
My cooking triumphs
Last Thaksgiving meal was my first time making such a large meal for such a large number of people....all went well!
My cooking tragedies
Broiling salmon in a pyrex dish. Shattered the dish...can't use pyrex in that high of temp...at least not that particlar dish!

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes
Wonderful as is, but I did add 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract and 1/2 tsp. cinnamon. Perfect pancakes! Box mixes cannot compare.

Slow Cooker Maple Country Style Ribs
Mild flavoring but nice..it didn't over-power the pork flavor. Something different than the usual pork in barbecue sauce. It didn't create a sauce that was thick that clings to the meat like BBQ sauce, which I was actually hoping for. But..it was o.k.

Corn Fritters Canadian Style
Easy and tasty. The family liked these with a bit of butter maple syrup on top, like a pancake. I liked mine with just butter and a bit of salt and pepper.
