A great dessert for a hot day when you don't want to bake. I made my own crust and it worked well to make a double graham cracker crust recipe and put it in 2 8 x 8 pans. I'm interested in trying variations--choc cookie crust, other kinds of jello, etc.

A good basic recipe. I had various leftovers in the fridge and was trying to decide if I should mix or layer them and this recipe helped me decide to layer. I poured a little chicken broth over the rice. I used some diced tomatoes and some tomato sauce--I would say, just use tomato sauce. My two year old especially liked the casserole.

I've made this recipe at least 5 times. It always has good texture and flavor. I use dry active yeast so I increase the amount a little. I also always check the bread machine 5 minutes in and sometimes need to adjust by adding a little flour. It is always a good bread for serving alongside dinner. Some loaves sliced perfectly for sandwiches; other times I could only get thick slices. Try it!
