My name is Tracey Kent. I have 3 kids, Skylar is 9 and she is in 4th grade. She is from a previous relationship. I am now married to a wonderful man, Andy. We have 2 twin boys, Hayden and Reagan who are almost 3 years old. I am a stay at home mom. I love to cook, and I try my best to stay in shape and to keep my family heatlhy and happy
My favorite things to cook
I love to experiment with new recipes. That's why I was so excited to learn about allrecipes.com. I can find anything I am looking for on the website! Well most of the time. I enjoy cooking anything and everything.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I am newly married, and never cooked too much when I was younger. I just sort of started enjoying cooking when I was about 17-18 years old. We don't have any family cooking traditions yet. Of course unless you want to count my first Christmas dinner, here at my house! The food turned out great, but it wasn't ready quite when I expected it to be! But the whole meal was great. All meals are great when you get to share them with family!
My cooking triumphs
My biggest cooking triumph would have to be when I did my first Christmas dinner at my house. It turned out great, and I had a variety of foods. I was able to do some of the preparing and cooking the night before, so I didn't have so much cooking to do on the day of the meal!
My cooking tragedies
I only have one cooking tragedy that i can think of right now. My mom is diabetic, so whenever I can I look for good recipes that are sugar free. I usually go to splenda.com to look for recipes. Well she was coming over for dinner a few weeks ago and I found a recipe for a carrot cake and spent what seemed like forver grating carrots and mixing and beating everything together. I left the cake in the oven about 20 minutes longer then the recipe called for, but when I tried to turn the cake over to get it out of the pan - it wasn't done in the middle and splattered all over me and the stove top. I cleaned up the mess and managed to salvage some of the cake!
