Mixed Berry Trifle

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2007
This is so yummy! I made a few changes though...I didn't have cream sherry, so I omitted it, and I added some roughly chopped walnuts in the layers on top of the toasted coconut...it was so good, I have made it a couple of times...it is easy, quick, looks (and tastes) good.

This is so easy and delicious...I love to bake, but I am trying to lose some baby weight, so I bake things and take them to work-this dissapeared in an instant! Everyone was raving about it and asking for the recipe...I will definately make this again!!

Kathy's Delicious Whole Slow Cooker Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2007
This is very good. However, I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5 for 2 reasons-1)8 hours is WAY too long!! My chicken was 3.73 lbs. and was done (on low) with 3 hours to spare...2) I doubled the sauce (except for the olive oil...I left that at 1/3 cup)-next time I will triple it because the sauce only covered 1/2 the chicken, so after a few hours the top half of the chicken was white as can be (and TOTALLY unappetizing {sp?} looking)and the breast side had soaked up alot of sauce and looked yummy- I flipped it, but like I said-I'll make enough sauce next time to cover the chicken- or will be sure to baste it throughout the cooking process. Other than that, It is tasty and tender! Will make again!

Roasted Lemon Herb Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2007
This was good...the only thing is that I had a 3 lb. chicken, and I had to make more of the dry seasoning-when I mixed all of the dry ingredients together to put them on the chicken, there was not enough. Also, instead of basting with just olive oil and lemon juice, I used olive oil, lemon juice, lime juice, oj, and fresh garlic...will definatley make again!

Fried Rice with Cilantro

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2007
This was delicious! Instead of using chicken, I put a ton of veggies in it and served it with the candied garlic wings from this site...it was a huge hit... I did use a little sesame oil in the rice, and to those with sticky rice issues-jasmine rice is stickier than normal rice, put a little olive oil in the water that you cook the rice in...this usually helps me.

Candied Garlic Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2007
These were AWESOME!! This is definately something that I will be making again! I doubled the recipe because I had 4 lbs. of wings, and I had a ton of marinade, so I will keep that in mind for next time. Also, I ran out of soy sauce, so I used a couple of tbls. of teryaki sauce. Turned out great! These wings were a hit with everyone! I served these with the cilantro fried rice recipe from this site (I put lots of veggies in it instead of chicken)Excellent dinner! EDIT- I just made these again last night, and was working from memory, and forgot that I was supposed to marinate the wings- I just baked them covered for 1 hour, but flipped them a few times, then I drained off alot of the sauce into a pan, brought it to a boil, added cornstarch to make a thick sauce to pour down over rice and the wings. I also broiled the wings for about 5 mins. to get a nice color and crunch! You never would have known that they were supposed to marinate! Also, I did add a few dashes of ground ginger and onion powder to the sauce for just a litte extra flavor...Awesome dinner again...this recipe will defiantely get use around my house!!

A Nice Slow-Cooked Pork

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2007
This was really good. i seasoned the roast first with salt, pepper, garlic powder and some italian herbs, then browned it on all sides. I also reduced the liquid a bit- 1 cup sherry, 1 cup chicken stock...it was plenty of liquid. also, I served this over egg noodles that I cooked in stock and some of the liquid from the crock pot...my hubby loved it! He even went back for seconds...will definatley make again!

Pan Sauce Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2007
I probably would not make this again-it was not bad, but just tasteless, even after I made some minor changes to the recipe that added flavor- I seasoned the chicken with salt, pepper, garlic powder and dried italian herbs, seared it in a pan, made a roux, added the white wine, stock and some fresh garlic and fresh herbs...not only was the sauce a bland, unattractive color, it was totally bland in taste too...I am glad that I made the changes that I did or it would have been REALLY tasteless!!

Pork Chops in Beer

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2007
We love this. I do make a few changes- I add minced garlic and honey to the sauce and I bake the chops covered for 1 hour and then uncover them for another 30 minutes...they are really tender that way. I sear the chops first. I add sliced onions on top of the chops too. Also, after I uncover the chops, I drain off some of the sauce into a sauce pan, bring it to a boil and add some cornstarch to thicken it up, then drizzled it over the chops and rice...SUPER GOOD!! This is a regular in our house!

Quiche Lorraine I

This is a classic recipe that is so easy and delicious! I sautee the onions with some garlic, and add asparagus or spinach some times. I use a little less cream than what this recipe calls for. It is great for dinner or brunch with a tossed salad and fruit.

BBQ Pork for Sandwiches

I love this recipe! It is so easy. I use a pork butt or a chuck roast. There is an awesome bbq sauce recipe on this site for a kentuckey whiskey sauce that I use instead of bottled sauce. We make this at least 2-3 times a month; it is definatley a family hit.

This is delicious!!! the first time that I made a pot roast, it was a disaster...so I found this recipe, and it turned out so well! It is so easy! I season flour with salt, pepper, onion and garlic powder and sear the roast on both sides before putting it in the crock pot with a can of beef broth...it is a weekly staple in our house!
