About this Cook
I got married in 2006 to a wonderful guy. We had a son in 2008, so now I'm responsible for feeding all three of us. The addition of our son has encouraged me to try to be a bit more healthy (veggies/fruit in every meal), but its hard between work and all to have time. I love to ride/drive horses, read novels, visit with family, and spend quiet time in the garden/woods.
My favorite things to cook
I have always helped out in the kitchen, but when I got married I was the one that had to work in the kitchen... So I had to learn to be my own task-master pretty quickly. So far I'm most comfortable w/ easy recipes that are tried and true. To my husband's regret, I am most comfortable with chicken! I'm trying to branch out with the help of Allrecipes!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family always gathers around food. Everytime we get together we have a great time eating, drinking, and generally being merry. Even small ocassions (like it'll never be this day in history again) are celebrated! I love it!

Macaroni and Cheese V
I didn't have dry mustard, so I skipped that ingredient. I also followed another reviewers recommendation to use 1/2 cup of Parmesan and 1 1/2 cup of sharp cheddar. I mis-judged the amount of salt needed, so mine needed more salt. It was a bit grainy, but tolerable. My husband liked it, but for one reason or another my picky 20 month old wouldn't try it (he's in that stage). I liked it too.

Slow Cooker Pork Chops II
These truly were 'fork'-chops! I used a whole can of broth & a sprinkle of crushed red pepper (instead of paprika), but otherwise followed the recipe. I served it w/ rice cooked w/ some of the liquid as well as some green beans cooked w/ some of the liquid. It was a great meal - even my 20 month old loved it!
