About this Cook
I love to cook! I am a working mother of a two year old so I am really busy! However, I still enjoy cooking dinner every night. It gives me a chance to be creative.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake coffee cakes and breads-but I also enjoy making meals and experimenting with various cuisines such as Italian, Greek, Asian and Indian.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family enjoys spending holidays together and trying new recipes as well as sticking with some of our old favorites. Everyone has their own specialties!
My cooking triumphs
I have taught myself to bake breads and cinnamon rolls. I was intimidated at first, but everything I have made has turned out on the first try!
My cooking tragedies
When I was learning to cook as a child, I thought that sausage balls were giant balls of sausage-this was a disaster-they were pink inside and were completely inedible!

Gourmet White Pizza
This was wonderful! I used Classico Alfredo sauce and added a little extra parmesan to it. Instead of regular feta I used sundried tomato and herb feta. I also added artichoke hearts and a little mozzarella cheese to the top and it was a hit at my house! Loved it and will definately make again!

Chicken and Artichoke Minestrone
I loved this soup! I did make a lot of changes just due to my tastes. I used three quarts of broth due to adding a lot of ingredients first of all. I also omitted the corn (just thought that was odd for minestrone) and exchanged white wine for the sherry. I used fresh spinach and instead of regular mushrooms I added a package of pre-sliced baby portabellas. Finally I added a can of garbanzo beans and some extra seasonings of basil and oregano. This is a great base recipe and easy to change to suit your family. My husband loved it and both of us took the leftovers in our lunch the next day!

Home Style Macaroni and Cheese
I have made a lot of macaroni and cheese recipes and this one is my absolute favorite! I made this one last night and followed the recipe pretty closely. I did not put any crumbs or cheese on top because my family likes their mac and cheese without a "crust" on top. We ate it without baking in the oven, and it was perfectly creamy and cheesy. Fantastic!
