About this Cook
I am a twentysomething who recently got married and loves to cook. I started out just wanting simple recipes to make for my then-fiance and myself. Now I love to cook! Being on Jillian Michaels (weight loss), I constantly try to lighten-up my recipes, without neglecting quality.
My favorite things to cook
I'm always looking for new chicken recipes. I love to cook desserts, especially for other people (so I don't have to resist eating the whole thing; I can just have a bite, and give the rest away! :) I also love anything with pumpkin. I would like to learn more about Asian cooking.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom's peanut butter cake is mandatory for birthdays! My grandmother's mashed potatoes and her creamed corn are to die for. Also, my other grandmother's biscuits are excellent.
My cooking triumphs
Cooking my husband's family a big meal all by myself - and they raved about it all!
My cooking tragedies
Haven't had too many of those yet. I did make a spinach calzone my husband hated (but I thought it was okay...)

Greek Pasta Salad I
I made this for my parents' 50th birthday party recently. I tripled all of the ingredients except I only doubled the red wine vinegar. It came out great! I made it a day ahead of time and left it in the fridge for a little over 24 hours. Didn't add the onion or bell pepper (not a big fan of either) but did add onion powder. I also added artichoke hearts. The only thing I would change next time would be to substitute the cherry tomatoes for sliced sundried tomatoes. I think I would like that better. Over all - very good!

World's Best Lasagna
This lasagna tasted so good! However, for all the work involved, it wasn't revolutionary. If you have the time and want to make a lasagna almost from scratch, give it a try. You won't be disappointed with the outcome.

Italian Sausage Lasagna
The measurements of all ingredients are way too low for even a medium-sized dish. However, if you pretty much triple everything, this is a fantastic recipe! The only thing I did differently was add a thin layer of turkey pepperoni on top of the ricotta layer and I used one 8 oz. block of Mozzarella cheese mixed with one 8 oz. block of colby. Very good outline though!
