New Jersey Diner Salad
I thought this was a tasty salad and a good alternative to the same old coleslaw that I always make. Before eating, I let the salad sit for about six hours and thought the flavor was great. The onion was way too overpowering, however, even though I only used one large yellow onion. The next day, all of the flavors had mellowed out, including the onion, but I found that it was almost too bland and a little bit watery. I did like it enough to make again, though.

Beef Cabbage Stew
This was a good, hearty recipe. I loved the addition of the cabbage. I used beef broth instead of the bouillon cubes and water, however.

Sloppy Joe Sandwiches
I think this was a great base to start with. I ended up doubling the recipe and adding diced onions, a couple of spoonfuls of pickle relish, and some hot pepper flakes for a bit of kick. My boyfriend said that it wasn't his favorite, that it was too sweet for him. I enjoyed the sweetness of the sauce, however. It was better than the sauce you get out of a can and really wasn't much more trouble to make. I'll be making this again with the modifications I added this time. By the way, I only needed to simmer this for about ten minutes or so. 30-40 minutes is way too long for this.
