About this Cook
Got into cooking when I became a vegetarian at age 16 after a bad experience with pork.I was pretty much on a macrobiotic diet when I was in chiropractic school and in retrospect,it was too radical for me.I started to eat fish again when I was pregnant with my first son,I still eat fish.I love exploring ethnic cuisine because when I was a strict vegetarian it allowed me to have some diversity in my menus.I know what you can do with tofu!I love to try other people's recipes and like the reviews because I am a recipe "tweaker"too.
My favorite things to cook
Fish,anything Italian,eggplant especially.vegetarian recipes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
WE all cook in our house and we have family meetings on Sunday to plan the meal later on.We make personal pizzas about once a month.Everyone gets a turn to have their favorite meal.
My cooking triumphs
I finally nailed garlic shrimp after twenty years and an fantastic scallop dish that I love at a local eatery.
My cooking tragedies
Have lost every battle with Irish Soda Bread.A family tradition is each year we try a new recipe for it and each year it becomes the yearly Irish hockey puck.
