About this Cook
I have 2 children under 5, I work a few days a week, so I have some nights where speed is key and some days when I can play around in the kitchen. Mostly, I like to prepare fresh, healthy food as much as possible.
My favorite things to cook
I love pasta and potatoes, but my husband loves protein and veggies, so we try to compromise and make mostly his healthy things, but I slip my starches in when I can.....
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas Brunch, Chili and Hot Dog party for the neighborhood at Halloween. My dad and I LOVE Thanksgiving, so we battle over who will cook each year. Everyone in our family picks a birthday meal and I love to see the kids tastes change....
My cooking triumphs
My first Thanksgiving dinner, Soy and lemon chicken thighs over rice, Seafood Pasta to die for....
My cooking tragedies
A beef stroganoff recipe from BH&G that had broccoli and ketchup in it....it was inedible. A "quick alfredo" that involved flour and milk and always tasted like glue (no one told me for years!!!) The first time I made rice noodles they were like jello--also inedible.

Pasta Primavera
This dish was colorful and good, but quite bland even after 1 tsp basil and 1/2 tsp thyme, clove of garlic and 1/4 tsp salt (In addition to wine instead of broth). I think cutting the flour and lengthening the reduction time might help. I used 1/2 lb. chicken too.
