Incredible Punch

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2009
This should be called "dessert punch"...it was far too sweet for my taste. The flavors were nice, perhaps a mix of ginger beer and club soda would help instead of all ginger ale?

Gazpacho

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2009
I agree with the reviewer who suggested to "use what's on hand". It's summer now and fresh stuff is everywhere so I used all fresh herbs. I also scaled back on the tomato juice and used "Spicy V8" instead. I also used a red pepper instead of green...just because I don't care for green peppers and it's my soup, right? Oh, and I used Balsalmic instead of red wine to give a bit deeper red hue. Yummy recipe.

Creamy Hot Cocoa

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2008
Seriously delicious. The better quality the vanilla, the better the flavor. My girls are crazy for sugar (and it is sweeter and creamier than other recipes), but we drink this in demitasse cups (for espresso) and it's just a nice little treat. I would imagine this would also hold up nicely to peppermint schnapps.

Crown Roast of Pork with Sausage Stuffing

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2008
The crown roast turned out delicious. We made the stuffing separate from the roast and found that it was a bit dry (I'd probably make a different stuffing next time), but the gravy was so yummy it helped make the stuffing tolerable. Perhaps the stuffing would be better in the roast (maybe that's why they call it stuffing :)

Coconut Bread Pudding

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2008
Delicious...even when you're not a bread pudding fan. I used left-over pannetone (Italian Holiday Bread) and it was delicious. The changes I made were that I cut the coconut milk to 1 can, substituted half and half and added pinneaple tidbits (about 3/4 cup).

Applesauce Doughnuts

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2007
Ok, seriously yummy. The kids wanted doughnuts this morning and we amazed them by whipping up a batch in less than 40 minutes. One suggestion I have for making this recipe is make sure your dropping the batter in the oil in the "level tablespoon" size and no larger...otherwise, you've got a yummy looking raw-in-the-middle dough ball. The tablespoon amount of batter gives you a "doughnut hole" sized doughnut. Also, drain them on a paper bag instead of papertowel...it tends to keep them crisper since the papertowel creates a "steaming" effect. Cheers!
