It's Chili by George!!
I used this recipe as a starting off point and the result was VERY good! I made a lot of modifications because I lacked many of the ingredients. I used 1 1/2 lbs ground turkey (instead of beef), 2 cans of stewed tomatoes with juices (instead of tomato juice and sauce), 2 cans of pinto beans (no kidneys), 1/4 cup dried onions (no fresh), and then double the amount of all the seasonings (except 1/2 the chili powder because I ran out). Plus, I added a jalapeno (I might add 2 next time) and a couple dollops of tomato paste to thicken it. This was actually the best chili I've ever had!

Chicken Makhani (Indian Butter Chicken)
Absolutely delish. I used a lot of the recommendations plus ad-libbed a little: used crushed (salted) cashews instead of corn starch, made my own garam masala ("easy garam masala" from this site), pureed equal parts garlic and ginger in a blender to make garlic/ginger paste. Have made it several times now and loved it every time.

Green Velvet Soup
Surprisingly delicious. I used chicken broth and I didn't puree the mixture. I thought it was very good to taste the different vegetables and it was such a rich, smooth flavor. Perfect comfort food, especially when sick. I cannot rave about this enough, my boyfriend LOVED it.
