About this Cook
In short, I am a Beatle Maniac, a Deadhead, a hippie, a band geek, and was considered "one of those weird chefs" in high school. I am currently attending The Culinary Institute of America, earning my bachelor's degree in Baking & Pastry Arts. In long, I have too much too write. ;-)
My favorite things to cook
Any dessert. Name it, I'll make it. I am not meaning to sound arrogant about this next sentence, it is only the truth. I am more or less a prodigy of food design.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom would always make something sauteed as a side dish at dinner. On Thanksgiving, my parents and I go to Mazatlan, Mexico, and eat the glorious shrimp there.
My cooking triumphs
The brownies I made when I was...well, I must have been about 10. They were delicious. I sold them for $5 a piece at school and they were gone by the end of the day.
My cooking tragedies
The time I was making Easy Mac and I forgot to put the water in...the kitchen smelled for three days.

Carrot Cake III
This was absolutely delicious! Even when I accidentally kept it in the oven for too long the second time I was making it, it was still soft, moist, and scrumptious. Thank you for this amazing recipe!

Eileen's Spicy Gingerbread Men
These are literally the best gingerbread men I've tasted. The flavor is wonderful (maybe it's just me, but most gingerbread cookies are tasteless). I only did a few things differently. First of all, I ground the cloves and nutmeg myself (MUCH more flavor) and added about 1/2 teaspoon of allspice and 1/4 teaspoon of cardamom. As I am a cinnamon addict, I added what must have been 1 1/2 tablespoons of cinnamon. I also began to knead the dough with my hands when mixing in the powders as the dough was much too tough and crumbly. I coated my hands continuously with water, which pressed the clumps together. When I was tasting the dough, I was thinking the cookies would turn out with much too powerful of a molasses taste. However, once cooked, these cookies were filled with warming spices and just a slight hint of molasses. This was my first time making gingerbread cookies, and this will definitely be the only recipe I use. Thank you so much!

Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies II
Absolutely decadent! I must admit that I added about 1 1/2 cups flour instead of 2 cups, which created hard-to-manage and sticky dough. However, when the cookies got out of the oven, they were beautifully soft and chewy, even after sitting out in the open air for about 2 days.
