About this Cook
I've always loved to cook but since I was a working Mom never seemed to have enough time! Now that I'm retired I love to try new recipes.
My favorite things to cook
Everything! Being from an Italian background I especially like Italian food. I've never been a great 'baker' but now that I have the time I'm working on more desserts, etc.
My cooking triumphs
I'm known for my Lasagna and Gumbo!
My cooking tragedies
One Thanksgiving, as I was making a sweet potato casserole, I mistakenly picked up the sage instead of cinnamon and dumped into the potatoes!! Luckily I realized before I mixed it in and just removed a scoop of potatoes and no one ever knew!

BBQ Country Style Ribs
I made these ribs for dinner today. My grocer had country ribs on sale last week for so I decided to try these. They are delicious! Not at all dry or tough-in fact mine gort almost too tender. I actually had tocut down the cooking time. I went with 325 for 1 1/2 hours then added sauce and turned down to 225 and cooked for only 30 min more. Try these and you'll love them!

Crispy Fried Chicken
I've fried chicken almost this way for years now. The only thing that makes it even better is to soak overnight in buttermilk that has some hot sauce mixed into it. The longer marinating time makes it that much juicier and more tender! This is the ONLY way to have juicy, crispy delicious fried chicken!

Whisky Tea
Love this! It brings back wonderful memories of my Grandmother fixing this on a cold winter night when any of us (kids and adults) had a cold! It's wonderful and will make you feel all warm, cozy and relaxed!
