I'm 24, I have a 3 yr old daughter and a boyfriend of 5 yrs. I love shopping at the local farmers market for fresh ingredients. My daughter and my boyfriend have completely different tastes than me. My daughter wants mac and cheese and broccoli, my boyfriend wants to live off of doritos and coke, and I like to try anything different and extrodinary. I love feta and spinach, sushi, tofu, etc.., so dinner is definately about compromise at my house! (and sneakily hiding veggies in their food)
My favorite things to cook
I don't eat pig or cow, so I enjoy exploring the limitless possibilities with ground turkey and other turkey products.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I'm starting our own family tradition. I am making a family cookbook, which already is full with recipes from my side of the family and my boyfriends.. Recipies that relatives are famous for making. Plus I try at least one new recipe a week and if i like it , it goes into the book. plus notes like if someone in peticular (my boyfriend) says minus the peas.. Some day when im older and have nothing better to do im going to have it all printed nice and bound together.
My cooking triumphs
My boyfriend loves my turkey meatloaf. Which is a major triumph in itself getting him to admit to liking something healthy. I've become really good in making ground beef dishes even though I don't eat ground beef, I use ground turkey instead.
My cooking tragedies
I have burned a plethora of cookies and cakes in my lifetime. I blame it on my oven.
