This is a great pie recipe. I made it for my parents and husband and all loved it! My husband said this is one of the best pies he has had and he doesn't even like blueberry pies usually. He loved the consistency and that when you sliced into the pie, a whole piece came out and you didn't lose any of the filling. I did add a bit of cinnamon to the filling and more to the topping. I just couldn't see the topping without a little cinnamon. It worked well! Great recipe!

This is a great recipe! I did cut up half an onion and some celery and put that on the bottom with a little butter and just a splash of water. I also put a little butter on the turkey before I rubbed on the onion soup mix. I used a breast that was just under 7 lbs and cooked it on low for 7.5 hours and then it was on warm until I came home a couple hours later. It didn't need all that time but I was at work so it got that full time. It was still moist and flavorful and the drippings made the best gravy I have ever had. I put a few cups on the stove and added a little flour/water mixture to thicken it up. I was thrilled with the results. An excellent way to have a full turkey dinner midway through the week!

This is a great recipe! I love the fact that you don't have to brown the meat beforehand. I started by putting a cut up onion, baby carrots and potatoes on the bottom of the pot and then putting in the roast and covering it with the onion soup mix and sauce. I used beef broth and a little red wine instead of water and had to add a flour mixture at the end to thicken up the sauce. It made the best gravy! The whole thing had great flavor and 9 hours on Low made for fork tender meat.
