I like simple no-nonsense cooking, but do like to shake it up a little. I get inspired by reading recipes, then creating my own version with what I have on hand and what I know my family will enjoy. Italian, desserts, big meals (though I don't have them often), breakfast on a lazy Saturday morning. The big Thanksgiving dinner. No matter if it is just my hubby and the kids or a whole houseful, I HAVE to have my stuffed turkey with all the trimmings! The first time I tried Paella and it was wonderful. When I was first married and I couldn't get the timing down for having a whole meal on the table at one time. We'd often have our vegetable AFTER dessert!
