About this Cook
I'm 32, been married almost 10 years, and have two sons. (ages 5 and 7) I was never much into cooking, but always loved to bake. I had to learn how to cook, and now i can really read a recipe. It has taken me a while to come as far as I have, but I am still ages away from venturing out on my own. ( Every time I have tried, has failed miserably.)Baking is still my favorite, and I am pretty good. No complaints ever from my family. My one son is very picky, and it is a challenge to find meals we all can enjoy.
My favorite things to cook
Cookies, pies, cakes, any dessert really. In terms of cooking I like to make chicken breast, oh and anything with bacon, or just plain bacon.
My favorite family cooking traditions
All holidays, dinners, get togethers whatever are always accompanied with mounds and mounds of homemade food. There is no such thing as too much food with my family. Some of everything, and nothing in moderation.lol
My cooking triumphs
A very awesome pumpkin cake from scratch. Oh and a really cool spongebob cake. I guess any of my 'speciality cakes.'
My cooking tragedies
Too many to list

Slow-Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup
This soup is incredible. I did not add any water, all broth. I also added frozen chicken breast, and shredded it after 4 hours on high. I did not use green chili's, and by accident i read red pepper, instead of chili powder, but only added 1/2-3/4 of a tsp. You must make the homemade strips. They are the essence of the soup, and absorb the flavor when dipped, without getting soggy.( It is not called chicken tostito's corn chip soup!) I did make about extra tortillas in the oven, and added cheese to about half. My husband and I both thought it was perfect! Just added shredded cheese for a little thickening. My husband and I loved it !!!!!
